Verno Phillips Upsets Cory Spinks with Split Nod

I watched it with the sound off, Spinks was throwing punches but he wasn't landing alot of them. I saw Verno landing flush punches on Cory's face. After the first four rounds i had the fight a draw, after eight i had it 5-3 (Verno), after 12 i had it 7-5. The fight was alot closer than u had it, your problem is you let that biased announcer get to you.

Even though i havent see the fight alot of people across different Website are calling it one of the worst robberies of the decade, But from all the reports are getting Corey spinks doesnt seem to be complaining..So i smell something fishy there...I think you might have score the fight to vernon philips because Spinks UD your hero Mayorga.

nope, the guy has a point. the colonel would not shut up about spinks. even when verno landed hard, flush shots it was, "wow spinks is in great shape, his legs didn't even buckle."

spinks landed on phillips' gloves, while phillips' punches landed on spinks' face. it was way closer and harder to score than everyone is making it out to be. no way was it a worse decision than casamayor-cruz.

that said it was in spinks' backyard, and he was the champion. he probably should have gotten the decision.

That's just a phony, "dramatic-sounding" phrase, which means nothing. Joyce left Dublin when about 20-21, never went back, even for a visit. He was only "across the road", in London and Paris, and never thought it worth the bother. I had professors who knew him well, said he was half crazy. No-one in Ireland ever bothered with his books until other countries made him famous, with coming over and starting that "Joyce walk" or whatever it is, roaming around to the various places he mentioned in one of his books. Just Tourist crap. THEY love it. Irish people couldn't give a damn.

I didnt see the fight...but I caught the tail end of the stream. Is the announcer just biased or was it really a clear spinks win?

I went and saw the fight live. I was in Row 1 ringside, seats 5 and 6 behind the ring card girls. Everyone in my immediate seating area knew Cory was losing. The guy behind me was shouting "And new" loud enough I'm surprised it didn't make the feed...

WOW.. That was absolute ****ing bull****. The ONE fight where Corey Spinks opts to do a little trading, and he gets robbed?!?

This means that he will NEVER try and ****e it up again. LOL

Cory got the worst of nearly every exchange and was almost down at the end of one of the middle rounds...
