Steady, i never said they had the BEST record in sport. They don't even play the same sports as everyone else, so how could they?lol but the only thing that makes someone 'American' is their birthplace and for that reason 'American' is such a loose term. Of course America has probably the best record when it comes to Sport, look at their level of immigration throughout history!
As I said, the only REAL American is the Native, which were brushed aside long ago.
It's not only Birthplace, to me it has more to do with where they are brought up and what culture they are brought up in. To me Khan is British born and bred, i don't care where his family have come from.Comment

Khan's culture is inherently anti-British and anti-Western, proved by the fact that despite being born in Britain he waved the Pakistan flag at his fights up until fairly recently.
European people like Joe Calzaghe's parents assimilate well into Britain because the indigenous people of Britain are European, but people from certain cultures often do not.
By the way, not long ago Ireland was part of the UK so Hatton can count as a Brit.

How is he not British? He came into his 1st pro fight waving the Britain Flag to show his opposition to ****** *********s, this was only a few days after the London bombings. Most of his family live in Bolton, his Uncle was born there, his grandparents moved over from Pakistan. He entered the Olympics in the GB team. His Dad owned a car garage for 20 years in Bolton, he supports Bolton FC and even has a Northern Accent!
Of course he's bloody British!
And just so you know, my Dad is completley Irish (Republic) but was born in England, is he and I not British!?

They're pretty good at a lot of Sports though, but **** at the only one that counts (Football).Steady, i never said they had the BEST record in sport. They don't even play the same sports as everyone else, so how could they?

Khan doesn't follow 'British' culture though, does he? We have to bring religion into it if we're going to go down that route.
Personally, I do care where their family come from because the only thing connecting him with Britain...is his birthplace.Comment
