Mohamed Ali....just show a picture of this man, only a headshot, anywhere in the world, and 90% of people will know who he is. Most people know Ali's boxing career, but outside the ring and away from Sports, Ali wears a suit and tie, has made huge contributions to fight Parkinsons Disease, has a Neurological Institute named after him, was named "Athlete of the Century", has visited the White House and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and you can write a book on Ali. Many political and acomplished business men like Donald Trump, Malcom x, Sylvester Stalone, and many high profile figures have surrounded themselves around Ali. About the only Person who was more World reknown, was Pope John Paul II, before he past away (RIP). Mohamed Ali is a very well respected human being.
Floyd Mayweather....an accomplished ring technician. We all know his acheivements. Outside the ring....show a picture of Mayweather, only a headshot, anywhere in the world, and people will assume..."RAPPER, or Basketball Player". While Mayweather may be inspiring to the young crowd, and the Hard-Core-Pugilist, ain't no underwear-showing, sneaker wearing, fur coat sporting, so called pound-per-pound...going anywhere near the White House anytime soon! Until Mayweather surrounds himself with influencial figures, and Until he makes huge contributions to "Society", Many of todays Inspiring Leaders like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan..they won't get near Floyd Mayweather....no Matter how much money he has, gets, or will ever have!

It's a combo of popular and being the big mouth that people want to see lose.
Saying he isn't a draw is not accurate. He's no DLH or Trinidad but very few guys are. He's still one of the bigger PPV sellers in boxing. Selling in the 350-370k area is solid, which is what he did for Judah and Gatti, and 325k for Baldomir.Comment
