I agree, and don't get me wrong - I'm wearing a Bernard Hopkins T-shirt as I sit here typing this.. HaHA.. No joke..

However, does Bernard deserve to be referred to as a "living legend" in these kinds of terms with some of the other great active and retired fighters out there?... This is largely based on his defenses, and even though I'm way more with Team Hopkins than Team Calzaghe at this point everything Joe says about De La Hoya, Trinidad, Tarver, ect. is completely true. Joe is right, and he's right to question the legend hype..

This legend stuff is going to stick, and 25 years from now people will be very confused by it. Tarver by the way is the one who built this legend theme for Hopkins with his "Legend Killer" MO during promotion for their fight.. Someone in here said it was because Bernard says it.. Alot of people have been saying it, but it started with Tarver.

when u consider Hopkins is a natural LHW who has been boiling down from 175 lbs to 160 lbs nearly his whole career it makes his victorys over Oscar & Tito even more questionable 2 guys who are naturally only 147 lbs

Indeed, although it's hard to pin the 147 figure on Trinidad in such explicit terms when he's demonstrated devastating knockout power at 160, and a strong and respectable performance against Roy Jones at 170.

When Hopkins took Trinidad apart that night both guys were the same size, and there's no clever way around it..

Bernard has grown into his 175 frame in impressive, surprising fashion. To talk about him being this natural lt. heavy when the solid majority believed he was too small for Tarver is an abuse, and 20/20 hindsight at it's fullest.

i think If Hopkins was a natural 147lbs fighter he would probably still have beaten Tito at 147lbs anyway so i suppose its irrelevant

I voted Malignaggi's star power....He will NEVER be a big star or top draw in boxing because of one reason....He punches like a little girl.

He did buckle and rattle Cotto though.. Incredibly..

And when I say buckle; he got Cotto to dip and dance a little bit.

                  He hurt him.

                  But I fully agree, WLAD.
