He beat three of them (if you think he lost BOTH Taylor fights, it'd only be three if you include his hypothetical victory over Joe) and ended up 3-1 in the process. interesting theory. did mayweather beat any p4p guys to get the #1 spot? I don't think any of his opponents were even on the radar of top 10 but I dunno, maybe Hatton was ranked top 10 prior to getting KO'd, odh, baldimor, judah, sharmba mitchell and gatti certainly weren't.

i cant put him ahead of mayweather and pacquiao just yet.

What you've posted is obviously facts (tarver being number 1 LHW and winky wright) BUT i cant see him moving no lower than 4th but not higher than 3rd.

Without Pacquiao and/or mayweather losses i can move him past them just yet.

At one point in his career (in his prime) he was the p4p champ in book but at this point in his career and even though a win of calzaghe would be huge for him i cant put him in the number 2 or number 1 spot.

I would probably put hopkins in calzaghe's spot of number 3.

if pacquaio or mayweather lost i would bump him up to number 2.

i dont think bernard hopkins will be p4p champion again unless something incredible happens in 2008. (he would have to beat calzaghe and pacquiao would have to lose to david diaz, assuming thats his next fight, and mayweather would have to lose to de la hoya.) .

if something amazing like that happened (which isnt impossible given how 2008 has been going so far) then yes putting hopkins at number 1 p4p would be the only logical choice.

and it might not have to be like that (mayweather and pacquiao losses) mattering on not just IF he wins but how good he looks doing it.

if he goes in and outclasses calzaghe and wins by a convincing knockout or easy decision (via UD) then i could see him going to number 2 p4p but cant put him at one just yet.

When Hopkins beats Calzaghe he's going to be in his own league. Guys are going to have to finish out there careers before you can start saying there better then him.

Mayweathers #1 Manny is #2 Hopkins can easily make the case for 3 though theres no doubt with that.

definitely not... he just lost to jermain taylor twice? the tarver win was big, but his win over winky was sloppy, and winky was blown up overweight... joe will be a huge win for him... but he cant get past pacman or floyd yet... id have him at 3
