Is ARTHUR ABRAHAM really Popular in GERMANY???

I knew he was popular, but is he like a superstar over there? Cause 1,000 people watched him workout recently.

More than 1,000 boxing fans were in attendance today when King Arthur Abraham and Elvin Ayala participated in an open training session ahead of their IBF middleweight title clash in Kiel on Saturday night. "I am in great shape and I will win," the unbeaten 28-year-old champion (25-0, 20 KOs) said. After a slow start, King Arthur, who will make his seventh title defence, gave the crowd a first-hand look at his punching power. "It always takes some time for him to get going," coach Ulli Wegner said with a smile. Before the champion proved his class, Ayala was in the ring, showing his hand speed and mobility. "I will definitely win," the 27-year-old (18-2, 8 KOs) said. "I have practiced very hard and can´t wait to get into the ring. I am really looking forward to Saturday." Also in action were WBA Fedelatin/WBC Latino cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez (14-0, 8 KOs), who will come face-to-face with Wayne Braithwaite (22-3, 18 KOs), and First Lady Cecilia Braekhus (5-0, 2 KOs). The Scandinavian star will take on Germany´s Tatjana Dieckmann (1-2) on Saturday night. For more pictures, click here...

I'm not german, but watch the german fightcards on tv. Yeah. I'd say he's pretty big. Although he's no native they are really fond of him as well as the Klits'.

And they should be. The fighters who are native cant punch....you know Maske, Ottke etc....

The german fighters make a lot of money fighting in Germany. The german public doesn't mind watching the local star bowl over tomatocans. There are really huge crowds and it's usually on FREE TV!!!

Boxing has seen a big revival in Germany since Henry Maske came around. He was/is immensly popular in all ways of life. The german fighters make megabucks today largely thanks to him.
