you make a decnt oint about calzaghe not fighting anyone but as someone else has alreay mentioned bernard ducked him then and joes been chasing him ever since. also the hyping up of fighters like lacy and johnson in america especially meant that joe never really get a look in and people didn't really take notice of him until recently.
part of it is down to joe he never been that great at self promotion and does very little photo shoots or whatever ouside boxing in fact there is an interview frank the wank warren who says that joe has alwyas pulled out of everything thats been promotionary etc.
another eason is frank warren whos just been giving him soft figters yes partly because joe broke his hand a few times and rank wanted to mae sure he was still fine but there were always plenty of fights out there for joe.
imo i think a prime joe vs a prime hhopkins would be an epic bout and one that joe calzaghe would just slightly edge.
