  • where now for michael katsidis

just wondering as i am a fan of his and love his exciting style and the fact that he always comes to fight. who will he fight next? will his chances as far as other world title shots and other big fights be badly affected? thanks in advance

I'm sure HBO will bring him back because of his exciting style. I personally would like to see him fight Juan Diaz with the winner of their fight fighting the winner of Casamayor-Campbell 2 if that fight happens.

He is exciting to watch but the man ain't gonna be as huge as people want him to. He has no defense and I've said thise b4. Casa isn't even a hard puncher and look what happen!! To think the man actually wanted to fight Joan Guzman!! Guzman would have made him look silly

Juan Diaz and Katsidis don't have footwork and body movement.. Campbell will beat Juan again and Casamayor can outbox both of them..

I mean a brawler should not only come forward and throw a lot of punches, Too bad they don't have the footwork Hatton and Pacquiao have.

katsidis just got too over anxious and got caught....he can beat casamayor. juan can baet campbell easy if he actually trains harder. he was out of it half way through the thing. either way both rematches would be entertaining

I give Juan a chnce to win a rematch but not Micheal! The guy only uses one style and we all know Casa will fight much smarter then b4.

The footwork of Hatton LOL thats funny , Hatton squares up and hops in like a rabbit and you call that good footwork Rocky is a much better inside fighter than Hatton as Rocky lets his hands go non stop without hugging and holding .

I think you'll be surprised at what he will achieve. Casa might not be a hard puncher but the punch that knocked him down and led to the ref stopping it after he got back up would have KO'ed just about anyone in that division. When you don't see a punch, especially one that has been thrown with pin point accuracy and hard, it doesn't matter if it isn't super hard, it will knock you out.

Why are you surprised he wanted to fight Guzman? No one else wants to and very soon Guzman is going to fade away into boxing's oblivion having achieved nothing and fought no one. He is probably the best guy out there at the moment and would beat anyone in and around his divisions. You have got to give big respect to a young, inexperienced kid wanting to come out and actually fight all the best guys at the very top. You sound like you might be another one of these 'One Loss ******s', but, if Katsidis comes back, he will come back better, smarter and stronger for this loss. Guzman can make anyone look silly and that includes the top guys like Pacquiao, Katsidis etc. You've just got to give him credit for being one of the only guys that wanted to fight Guzman to try and beat him. There are not many willing to put all that on the line anymore. That is why he is going to be a superstar.

Obviously his lack of defense is the major thing holding him back at the moment. He has everything needed to be a huge superstar: Heart, determination, power, stamina, speed, character etc, but he must get his defense better if he wants to compete for a long time and have some brain cells alive at the end of it all.

The thing most people don't really seem to understand is that Katsidis went from fighting no one to fighting the recognised main guy at lightweight who had done it all there. Beaten the best of the last decade nearly. He jumped up so much in skill that what he achieved in itself is stunning. Just because most fighters now pad along getting protected at every corner, everyone suddenly thinks he's **** now or something...? If he had stayed the typical course these days and fought contenders like Amonsot for a few more years people would start thinking he was the greatest thing ever until he went and lost to one of the top guys and even then it wouldn't be seen as that bad, but because he jumped up so high so quick and lost people are thinking he is done?

If he fought Casamayor again, and I desperately hope they try really damn hard for a rematch, I guarantee that Katsidis would be the first guy to stop him. He was well on his way to doing what no one else had been able to, from Corrales, Castillo to Freitas, Campbell, Kid Diamond and Santa Cruz when his lack of experience got the better of him and a terrible corner didn't know what advice to give him either.
