I think Gomez is just trying to make the most out of the fight and build drama. I mean who makes their own Countdown type documentaries? I think Gomez is really training as hard as he possibly can, and if Cotto looks past him, which hes already stated its not much of a challenge, we can be in for an interesting fight.
