see this is exactly what im talking about, people confusing speed with higher punch output. calzaghe is a more accurate puncher, the most busiest super middle out there, he throws double the amount of shots than taylor does, but judging pure speed of hands, at this moment taylor edges him. i dont know how calzaghe punched before his injury, im talking about now. for the first 4 round taylor's speed in hands is quicker, not by much, but quicker. just because a guy is throwing hundred punches in a single round it doesnt mean his got lightening hands. it just looks deceiving.

it's same what people said about judah and floyd. most picked floyd because he's a superior boxer, i picked judah because it's common sense

I think you're the one that's confused. I mean this with no disrespect to you. On the other hand, maybe I could have worded my post a little more clearly.

I am not confusing output with hand speed, far from it. I was merely pointing out my thoughts about Taylor while we were on the subject of Taylor. Don't get me wrong, I may be new as a member to these forums, but I have been closely following boxing since 1977. I wouldn't confuse hand speed with punch output. Regardless, my first post can be summed up in the first line: Calzaghe has the faster hands. The rest of the post is just random ramblings. Peace.

calzaghe is getting more votes, but i think it also has to do with jermain's latest performances, he's lost a lot of prestige since those losses. calzaghe on the other hand has looked superb in his victories, dominating every opponent, and on his way to fight hopkins.

i get what you're saying, maybe i misread your post a little. to me both guys have good speed, calzaghe just looks better using it.

            Yes, apologies for the confusion.

I agree with you, btw. Calzaghe does look better using it.

had taylor not lost to pavlik people wouldnt even be talking about this ****
Taylor looked absolutely dreadful in his two biggest wins and has continued along that theme ever since. Pavlik has nothing to do with it.

I find it funny that Taylor beat Hopkins with athleticism, speed and punch output. Calzaghe is CLEARLY superior in all these attributes, plus better stamina, a better chin and even more power if he decides to use it. Yet Hopkins beats Calzaghe? Dream on fools....
