That article was brutal. Looks like he wrote it with a thesaurus in hand.
Bernard Hopkins, Enjoys Being Bernard Hopkins

The more and more he gets inside Calzaghe's head..............(Which it's obvious that he is, because of all the retaliation from Joe):
The more the chance that Calzaghe fights on pure andrenaline and tries to overwhelm Hopkins. lol Calzaghe is not the World's coolest customer in the ring.
I mean he definitely has his own rhythm throwing fast combos, using lateral movement and always following up............but when he gets tagged he starts to trade punches and flail away.
lol I mean just watch the Sheika or Mitchell fights. Hopkins would pick that amateurish **** off in a heartbeat with counter punches.

Speak for yourself. There is a big bandwagon rolling for Hopkins now though, it always happens in the lead up to a big fight, the fans always hype up their mans strengths and play down the favourites strengths, while exaggerating his flaws. It happened in the lead up to Hatton/Floyd aswell, Hatton fans were very loud in reasoning their bias, and now we're seeing history repeat itself with Hopkins fans.My god in heaven. The irony, A Joe Calzaghe fan complaining about an irrational, unwarranted bandwagon. I never thought I'd see the day.

"IN FULL PROMOTIONAL ECSTACY"........ Don't I wish that I 'd thought of THAT. What a beautiful, extemely apt, little description of Hopkins' crude, bullying, vulgar boasting, which he, for lack of anything real to expound on, feels he NEEDS, both to bolster up his own ego (which is a sort of surprise, since his bloated EGO is normally self-feeding), by threats which merely convey his uncertainty.
As this build-up goes on, one can anticipate a "swan song" performance, (with the swan already drooping before the denouement) even more dreary than his last umpteen fights, not to mention all those forgettable performances before Trinidad made him famous. Until then, he was almost unheard of other than by Max Kellerman, who alone kept his name and expertise alive. I think Max was the only one on TV, who, when a top middleweight fight would be discussed, would say," but he'll have to go through Bernard Hopkins to become the REAL Champ".
Until I heard Max talk about him, I'd almost never heard of him, and then, not in complimentary terms. Well he's up against it now with Calzaghe, and he'll either shuffle and poise and calculate and move around, OR he'll try to make a fight out of it. Personally I think his only chance is Joe falls and breaks his leg, or that Hopkins gets in a few successful butts before the ref is FORCED to call him on it. He could BITE him. I suppose I just don't like Hopkins.
Anyway, Hopkins HAS to keep being as outrageous as he can, just to make the fight seem interesting, since he's NEVER filled any seats. It was always his opponent, and since there doesn't seem to be much he can do in the Golden Boy Organisation, I wouldn't think his compensation is all that great. He wants to retire with a satisfactory cash cushion. Who can blame him? Not ME. Professional boxing is not REALLY a Sport. Sport was practiced for the honour and thrill of competing, ans striving to win. It became a business when it was found that people would pay to view it. It's a BUSINESS. The business of supplying spectacle and thrills for vicarious viewers.Comment
