jonathan wants to move to heavyweight in near future

cruiserweight banks managed and trained by steward wants to move up to heavyweight in the next 2-3 years, or after he unifies a cruiserweight title.

the reason why he might not go there right away is very simple. manny is probably waiting until klitschko retires, so the landscape is more open for banks. in all honesty klitschko is a danger to anyone, especially banks, despite the chin, or stamina. banks did spar with klitschko, and they are friends. but manny trains both of em, and he doesnt need that kind of conflict in his schedule. besides why ruin the chances of potential superstar once wlad steps down? good things come to those who wait.

possibilities are endless, perhaps a future showdown with fellow former cruiserweight champion David Haye. or other exciting fights. banks is a quick cruiser with good power in either hand. he will be a force with those extra 20-25 pounds on him. no more than that, he's not a tall guy and he doesnt want to loose his speed. 220 for him would be more than enough.

the only problem might be a streak of losses for manny's fighters. if steward will hype up banks like he did the rest of them, than banks might be in danger of loosing his 0. manny is a trainer not a promoter therefore he should stick to his job. i dont wanna hear manny say another word about how indestructible his "kronk" figghters are. so if manny dont run his mouth, banks has a good chance of becoming a man to beat. he's got a good teacher in manny.

    so what you all think???

that's why he wants to unify the cruiserweight title first. he's managed carefully now, the best and most experienced fighter he has faced so far is Eliseo Castillo who dropped banks twice in the first round. but castillo fought heavies too including wlad, so that was a good fight for him.

      nice pic baLLER lol

thats nice, but has he even reached 20 fights yet? he needs to take care of the cruisers first which he will, and then think about the heavyweights.

I truley wish he would make it a career at cruiser but I'm just biased cuz its my favorite division.

if david haye has trouble making weight than banks surely does as well. he will move up eventually unless he wants to live the next 6 years on a diet.

Banks KO3 Haye, per my signature

you are dreaming. banks is lucky haye is moving up to the heavys cuz haye would've demolished him. not taking anything away from banks cuz he is a really good fighter but, haye is just leagues above him.

I saw Banks against Castillo, he was knocked down twice in the 1st round and was almost KO'd...Banks showed a lot of heart getting off the canvas to comeback and KO Castillo in the 4th round.

That was the best opponent Banks has fought, that fight was all the way back in July 2006, for some reason Banks has just been fighting tomato can bums ever since the Castillo fight...He needs to step up the competition now...Banks has the potential to do some serious damage in the Cruiserweight division, but at heavyweight he would get destroyed IMO.

On a side note, Banks is in Wlad's corner every fight and they're very good friends.

banks will knock out enzo if they fight for the vacant WBO just as easily as haye did

maybe we'll see that fight in the heavyweight division. i think that Haye has the edge in experience, and maybe punches slightly harder. but banks carries a good punch too. this is the type of matchup that creates suspense and excitement. it's also the type of fight that doesnt need judges to score it.

haye has a better right hand, banks has the left hook to drop anybody and also a very good right hand
