Style and ability-wise, Cotto is a tougher fight for Floyd. No doubt in my mind.

Well we already know how he did with Oscar, and we can only guess how he would handle Cotto so this question is flawed.

My guess is he beats Cotto with movement and sharp countering all night. Oscar has more of a punchers chance thru the 12 rounds.

I believe Cotto can keep up with him, people act like Cotto is "big and slow", his speed and agility is underrated and he isn't always brawling in his fights. But if anything I can see mayweather keeping distance and scoring alot of counter punches, but then again I think of the way cotto caught Mosley in the beginning of their fight. But anything anyone says about a bout between these two is still pure assumption.

Yes, we do know how he did with Oscar. He barely beat Oscar.

He has to fight Oscar again.. Just so you know..

He's just smooth. Knows where to pivot, how to change angles. Looks like he's moving slow, but it's consistent.

Cotto takes what his opponent gives him. He's certainly capable of putting more efficient pressure on Floyd than Oscar could. He won't get caught staring at Floyd like Oscar's dumb ass. That's what lost Oscar the fight in rounds 9-11. Floyd was having a field day with the right hand. Cotto isn't going to sit around and box with Floyd.

Oscar has more of a punchers chance thru the 12 rounds.
At this point I think Cotto has a better chance at landing a massive body shot which cripples Floyd. Floyd's understanding of space and reflex are too great to get caught with some huge shot from Oscar upstairs.

Good post. Cotto is a very mobile fighter with excellent radar.

If he employed the same gameplan he set in place for Quintana and Judah I'd say he would have a very good chance of victory, so long as he could stay away from any heavy return fire from Mayweather.

As I've said in the past Floyd is not a superman.

In full body destroyer mode Cotto might be the right man for the job. I'm not sure about what we saw in the Mosley fight.. That wouldn't be his best tact.

                    Who's the tougher fight??

                    Let's see...

On one hand we have an old washed drag queen promoter.....

On the other hand we have a young prime hungry undefeated top p4p Welterweight Champion.....

                    Gee, that's a tough one

No wonder Mayweather is ducking Cotto.
