But I'd also hazard to guess his training habits aren't the only factors involved with his slight decline as a fighter. That's also due to his fluxuation in body weight as well as history of fights.

And yeah I realize he fights in his own version of a defensive shell........part of the American Boxer/Mexican Fighter hybrid. But he still absorbs punishment and has taken some damage throughout history.

Also his physical toughness always flies right under the ****ing radar.

in my mind oscar is a much tougher test than cotto. Cotto is smaller, makes alot more mistakes, and has the kind of style mayweather likes to work with.

Whereas oscar is a bit smarter, and applies smart pressure, and is a bit elusive, the problem is he fades.

But the fans want mayweather-cotto, and i want mayweather-cotto.

Well I don't necessarily agree with that.

Because the version of De La Hoya that Mayweather did in fact fight......was probably the best one we've seen in years.

And a De La Hoya at 85-90% is still a better fighter than Miguel Cotto and I'd say tougher test because of his ring experience.
