    Tougher Fight For Mayweather?

"You have to hand it to Floyd Mayweather, who found a way to avoid Miguel Cotto and make money doing it because, joy of joys, there was senior citizen Oscar De La Hoya, still lurking about.

All Floyd had to do was wake him up, dust him off, point him toward Las Vegas, and remind him this is a Leap Year - time to compete in another superfight. Easier night for Floyd, bigger purse. And what does Oscar get out of this besides millions and millions? His own magnificent opportunity to avoid Cotto."

Miguel would make it tougher because he's more consistent with the jab. It would be the same kind of jab that DLH used to come in- except that Cotto uses it all night...

Well I don't necessarily agree with that.

Because the version of De La Hoya that Mayweather did in fact fight......was probably the best one we've seen in years.

And a De La Hoya at 85-90% is still a better fighter than Miguel Cotto and I'd say tougher test because of his ring experience.

I guess that kills the fears that The Ring would become a mouthpiece for Golden Boy.

DLH has proven he can take Floyds shot , the thing about Cotto is he has been rocked a few times and I wonder if he gets hit by one of Floyds shots he does not see he will get KTFO !

Not sold on Cottos chin just yet !

i like cotto but the way shane was winding up and still hitting him late makes me think a quicker floyd would put it on cotto and put it on him good.
i like cotto's jab, he was forgettin it though the more he got punched.

cotto fights all 12, well 11 the last fight but i see him getting hugely discouraged by the speed of mayweather.

De La Hoya will be there for 12 rounds and has power in that left hook.

Cotto would be stopped past the midpoint. Cotto's style is taylor made for "Money".

With that being said Cotto is the more deserving of the linear welterweight shot, but DLH and "Money" are fighting at jr middle so Cotto's shot is still there win, lose or draw for Mayweather.

                    You're somewhat right, man....

                    Technically and physically....very sharp fighter.

But he WAS inactive. That counts for alot.

ANd he was more businessman then fighter. This is fact.

If he was young and upcoming i guarantee the situation would be different.

He probably trained hard in his silk boxers and 5 star house he rented and stayed at in puerto rico.

But if he was that kid still eating his wheaties and training, training, and training...

                    situation = different./
