Yeah.I think it's fair to say there are a healthy number of people who post on internet chat forums that have no idea Oscar was in ranked by Ring magazine in the top 1, 2, 3, ect. P4P fighters for consecutive years..
Even during his peak alot of people mistook his celebrity and good looks for real accomplishment. He was/is very ****ing good at this..
Well...........he has been around for a while, so I think the younger crowd who may have just picked up boxing are the ones perceiving him as thus.
But lol I think he's an ATG fighter. Definitely top 50.

He was a gold medalist first and foremost which proves the dude can flat out fight. He could fight against any style and he proved that in his career and in his amateur career.
But, for me personally, his legacy isn't nowhere near even a guy like Ray Leonard's.
Both gold medalists, but a totally different class.
DelaHoya did beat a whole crap load of hardnose veterans though. That counts for alot.Comment

His most underrated win was against JCC the first time. I dont think JCC was washed up, although physically he was not at his best weight.Comment

Of course it is. The man fought every fighter that was relevant and ducked no one. His resume is the best in terms of fighters faced of any fighter today.Comment
