Watson had to wait a full year for that fight because McCallum postponed the fight twice. He was out of the ring and entire year. He Beat Eubank once (despite the verdict) Watson was robbed and KO'd Benn easily.

Watson was not robbed in the 1st fight he did'nt get started untill the 5/6 round he gave Eubank the 1st half of the fight ,Eubank was good for a draw at the least

McCallum would have beaten Mike Watson at any point in Watsons career, far superior technician was McCallum

Overrated or not he was still better than average....McCellan was one hellava fighter. A Tough, good boxer good boxingskills with great power who always came to fight. He was hyped up a lot going into Pro boxing cause he was a great amateur boxer who also beat Roy Jones jr in the amateurs.

Yeah he was heavily into dogfighting but that's how he was raised. (Not saying it's an excuse) That's the type of stuff he was used to ever since he was a kid. Google McClellan and you'll find a lot of great articles about him and his life.

McCallum was a great fighter but Watson was off for a year and didn't stick to his plan. He was a great counter puncher but ended up chasing McCallum the entire fight he got exhausted. I if he let McCallum come to him and countered him he could've won. But TBF McCallum won and there's nothing i can say but IMO Watson was a better fighter

It's not like Benn was that devastating a puncher. That fight made him. If it wasn't for McClellan's brain injury he would have won the fight and Benn would be a nobody right now. So would Eubank since the best thing he ever did was beat Benn. So if you want to get technical neither one of them are anything special, like most of the British fighters. Like you will see in April When Calzaghe gets his ass handed to him.
Nigel Benn was as big in England as Muhammad Ali was in America. He changed the face of boxing.

McClellan and Benn are easily two of the best punchers of all-time.

McClellan's timing and heavy-handedness were second to none and he hit best from range, though his best punch was the short left hook to the body - that shot gave me 14-15 men 10-counts!

Benn had superb natural punching leverages, they were something to behold in his 80s physical prime
