He looked awful in the fight prior to the Lacy fight, and indeed often awful between the Calzaghe and shot Ottke fights, and indeed awful against a 40-year-old Malinga
The only decent win of his career, if you do count the Calzaghe and shot Ottke losses as losses, was against a weight-drained, broken-nosed Henry Wharton, though admittedly everyone thought Wharton would steamroll him. I knew he'd beat joker Nardiello, though, though nobody else did, because he was flat-footed and strong enough to walk through that wingers ***** slaps and cause him to **** aboutComment

Since you say Reid was shot after the Calzaghe fight, then maybe Calzaghe's hard lefts may have had something to do with it? But since you're a Calzaghe hater, you would never agree to anything like that.
But it was actually the Lacy fight that he never completely recovered from.Last edited by The Hammer; 03-23-2008, 03:47 PM.Comment

Hmmm, you said Reid looked "awful" between the Calzaghe and Ottke fights. It seemed you meant he was shot by that time.
Reid actually looked good against McGee, but hasn't since the beating he took from Lacy, remember he quit on his stool.Comment

Anyway, Happy Birthday to Joe, and I hope he adds a few more wins to his 44 and he retires undefeated like Rocky Marciano!
