I would have liked to see Katsidis get more of a chance, but he was about done for anyways. That left hook took what he had left which was quite a bit out of him. Was it horrible, NO! The one last night was far worse.
Bad Stoppage!!!

I don't care how bad the stoppage was. When you fight that dumb in a fight you're winning, you deserve to lose anyway.Comment

That's what I was thinking. Katsidis fought like an amateur in the 10th, and Casamayor exploited it. The ref wanted to stop the fight after the knockdown, but he gave the kid another chance. His legs were gone and there was no way he was going to last the 2+ minutes remaining in that round. Now Katsidis has a chance to learn from this and polish his style.Comment

He got hit with one clean shot. What unnecessary punishment are you talking about?!? Its not like he had him against the ropes just wailing away. Mike got up and walked over to him and got hit with one shot and the ref stepped in. That was it. The same ref that saw him come back from getting dropped two times in one round to dominate the fight, for some reason thought one punch was too many.Comment

His legs were gone, he was stumbling towards the referee. The referee could've stopped it right then and there but decided to let him go on, but then he got hit with another left hand that shook him up again. If anyone were to complain about the stoppage, it would have been Katsidis himself and he didn't.He got hit with one clean shot. What unnecessary punishment are you talking about?!? There was over 2 minutes left in the round, if the ref didn't stop it, I think Casamayor would've killed Katsidis. It was a good stoppage, the ref give Katsidis more time then most refs would. Katsidis was on ***** street!
You want to talk about bad stoppages, watch the fight from Yesterday.Comment

It's a bad stoppage because Katsidis knocked Joel Casamayor out of the ring but still on the matt which is a 10 second count, and the ref counted extremly slow!!! And if the ref that wasn't paid off to count extremly slow so Casamayor could get his slow ass off the matt then the fight would have ended there because you're suppose to only have 10 second counts not a 30 second count... Ridiculous, Katsidis got robbed. I hate this fight I hate these lame upsets because refs don't know how to do their job properly givign Casamayor a **** load of time after being knocked out of the ringComment

Exactly. If it weren't a competitive title fight, it would have been stopped when Katsidis got up on jelly legs.Comment

I don't think it was a bad stoppage.
I mean, Katsidis was still wobbled when the ref stopped on the count of 8 and he let him continue. So let's stop blaming the ref on this one (if you want to see a bad stoppage, watch the Vera vs Lee fight again!
). I blame this on Katsidis!
He got way too careless and although he has "limited" experience he forgot one thing useful when you are wobbled and still don't have your legs full and trying to get the cobwebs out of your head... that is...
TAKE A KNEE!!!!!!
So easy!!!
It seems these young kids have not watched any old fights and learned the tricks of the trade! But oh well... great fight nonetheless.Comment
