No, Leonard played mind games with Hagler by saying that the fight would take place, then continuously canceling it. Once he seen the John Mugabi fight and seen how Hagler started to show his age and his legs were noticeably slower, he took the fight.

Mayweather is clearly avoiding Cotto. He is fighting other names that would not generate as much money as Cotto/Mayweather would. The De La Hoya or Hatton rematch would not be nearly as big as Cotto/Mayweather and he knows it. Floyd also never directly said that he wanted to fight Cotto. He simply doesn't want to fight Miguel. A fight between him and Cotto would be the biggest fight that could be made in the sport.

I disagree with parts of your post. PBF is playing mind games with Cotto. If PBf is taking a page out of Sugar Ray Leonard's book he doesn't have to do it the exact same way as done before him. As I said earlier it has SIMILARITIES not exactly the same. PBF vs De la Hoya rematch will do more numbers than PBF vs. Cotto you trippin with that. Now a rematch with Hatton won't do numbers at all I agree with you on that. **** it seems to me he wanted to fight Cotto at 140 but was turned down.
