This is what I call childish.

Joe Calzaghe broke his hand against Reid and still won, Reid is actually a pretty good fighter too. I'll put this to you then seeing as we are in a childish mood today, would Calzaghe have lost to Clinton Mitchell?

Not really comparing Joe to another fighter, rather the come forward style. Ive seen Joe not come forward and counter punch his way to victory and I know he has wrinkles in his game and can change up to a degree, I've also seen him not only fatigued but noticably show it. Great fighters hide such things, you have never seen Hop show tiredness in a fight whether he is or not, thats a psychological thing that works to your advantage when you can hide it, same as getting hit by a punch that hurt you, if your opponent doesnt know its better for you. Mark my words, Hopkins ain't losing to a white boy.

How many of Bernard Hopkins' previous opponents have been an unbeaten Champion of the World for well over a decade?

At least Ive seen Reid fight, you havent seen Clinton Mitchell fight, so how childish is that. Also that fight was at light heavy, Hopkins moved down to middleweight immediately after, noticing himself he wasnt a light heavy at that point in time, not to mention that was his first fight. But Cal would have lost to Roy.

People make it out like Hopkins will be totally different from whatever Joe has fought before, it's the same for both guys! That's what makes this fight so appealing to me.

I can't imagine how the fight will play out untill they are both in the ring together.
Speak for yourself, Ive seen it already.

I saw it. Both combatants were naked.

Then explain how Mercado got a Draw against him in their first fight and put him on his ass twice.

                  I saw that fight

I got b-hop to win, but I admit Calzaghe is in his own league. While I agree with some of the similarities between some of the opponents Hopkins has beat, Calzaghe is pretty smart himself and knows how to adjust. I thought Kessler was kind of having his way with Calzaghe the first three rounds and he was landed that uppercut at will, but Calzaghe switched up and dominated from that point on.

This will be the ultimate chess match, a tactical and thought out fight. I seriously doubt Calzaghe is going to come out swinging and trying to throw 100 punches per round, he's too smart for that. He will have spurts, and various times throughout the fight, but not for entire rounds.

It's going to be a close match, but I think b-hop gets the narrow victory. I think hopkins will hurt/stun calzaghe on at least one occasion and it will make calzaghe wary for the time being.

I've seen that fight and Hopkins should have got the win, just like the announcers said, but that crowd was hostile as hell. They would have lynched them.

But regardless, this fight and Calzaghe's fight with Reid make no difference. Nearly 10 years ago since Cal fought him and 14 years ago since Hopkins fought Mercado. Both fighters are better now to make mistakes like that again. Those were great learning experiences for each fighter and they wouldn't be who they are today without those experiences
