Yeah you said it, they are both match spoilers. Calzaghe has the better work rate but Hopkins is more crafty. I can't wait for this fight.

But Kessler had tried it against Mundine in OZ before. JoeC has never been to a foreign country with a hostile crowd. How he responds remains to be seen.

I think that the points you listed are some of the major motivational factors Calzaghe uses in his preps, and I would expect him to come in no less prepared than for the Kessler/Lacy fights.

Hopkins is normally a slow starter so Joe must stamp his autorithy from the opening bell and try to keep the initiative all the way. I think he will do that by throwing 1000 punches (and slaps) and win by late stoppage or wide UD.

        (BTW I'm not welsh....)

He fought Robin Reid in England. That was a hostile crowd. Believe that. Mario Veit in Germany.

Anyway I'm thinking Joe will have more vocal support than he had in either of those fights.

Ok. Thx for pointing that out. Now I am SURE that the venue wont be a concern for Joe.

Thanks everyone for the positive replies and green.

The only way fighting in America can possiblt effect Joe imo is because he has to change his training routine slightly in the build up to the fight. He will have to train in the U.S for a few days to a week at the least imo.

Joe Calzaghe is a very strong minded guy and I can't see the fans effecting him, I mean... This guy fought in front of 50,000 people in his last fight and then another 30,000 in the fight before.

I'd rather fight with 50,000 people against me. Than for me.

The crowd isn't going to matter regardless. Calzaghe will likely have the most fans in the Thomas and Mack centre anyway (sadly I wont be one of them ).

                    Yeah.

No way can this be remotely as nerve wracking as having the expectations of 50,000 people on your shoulders. In your national stadium, against an undefeated, hungry double world champion, in the biggest post war boxing event.

Not even remotely close. I can't imagine that kind of pressure.
