a win isnt an indicator of physical status. he didnt fight like a young bhop against winky. but to be fair, that could had been a style he chose knowing it may had been the only way he could win.

People shouldn't look past Hopkins' challenge because of the following :-
- He is undefeated against Southpaws (11-0) with his last 2 fights being against them also.
- He is the only one of the two who has fought at 175, this is a new territory for Calzaghe who is moving up.
- Calzaghe has never fought in America before (I don't think it means much AT ALL but it should be brought up).
- Although Hopkins has lost 4 fights, he has won his last two in a row and is far from being shot as many like to think.
- Calzaghe isn't that young either! Calzaghe will be 36 come fight night.

I struggle to see how Hopkins wins unless he repeatedly buzzes Joe.
The way I see it. This fight is going to realllllly horrible. Really messy. Completely untidy.
Essentially you have two counter punchers. Two guys that ruin the others fighters style and inflict their own style.
Joe is going to win because he will be the guy pressing the action, and making the fight.
Hopkins might bash Joe up a bit, but I can't see how it could be enough to pinch enough rounds to win him the fight.
I'm not going to lie, If B-Hops won I would be shocked to my arse. With that said and my bets record 1k on the executioner. lol.

I think that the points you listed are some of the major motivational factors Calzaghe uses in his preps, and I would expect him to come in no less prepared than for the Kessler/Lacy fights.
Hopkins is normally a slow starter so Joe must stamp his autorithy from the opening bell and try to keep the initiative all the way. I think he will do that by throwing 1000 punches (and slaps) and win by late stoppage or wide UD.
(BTW I'm not welsh....)
