Both James Toney and Mikkel Kessler are tactical fighters, both of them lost to the best fighters of thier decade because of their superior hand speed and footwork.

i know Zag was not prime but he walked into some monster right hands from Reid & Eubank & more recently Kessler hit him wiht some corking right hands & uppercuts
If he steamed in like that against Toney he would get hit all night with Right handComment

Calzaghe...
Toney loved it when opponents wanted to get on the inside and slug it out. But Calzaghe also absolutely loved it when opponents wanted to get on the inside and slut it out. Joe had faster hands than Toney, and if anybody could stun Toney it was Calzaghe with his speed of hand.
Joe's a much faster starter than James, so those early rounds would be all his and he'd be able to keep range later on to keep a comfortable decision.Comment
