mayweather is currently the face of boxing. of course his antics outside of the ring affect the sport's popularity.

Have you ever taken any statistic, advertising or marketing courses/classes?

I went to an old forum I posted on back in 00-01 after the first incident, and to my surprise every person who knew who he was said he should fight Cotto instead of being in WWE.

From my experience, I would say most if not all people on the forums hate his guts. He cant act, sucks at selling a promo, cant work the crowd, etc.

When the sports pfp#1 fighter would rather participate in a circus stunt by fighting Bigshow, instead of taking care of business in the boxing ring where he belongs, of course its going to affect the way people look at him and the sport as a whole. The casual fan doesnt see it the way us diehard fans do. They see it as "Isnt that the Merryweather guy who fought Oscar Delahoya? Is he a wrestler now?" Its a joke!

Taking stats right now. Don't see the need to try and make smart ass remarks though.

it doesnt matter. Floyd got more coverage by ESPN for this goofy little thing than he did for the Hatton fight. Floyd can do whatever the hell he wants as long as he ends up fighting Cotto in the future.

besides, admit it, it will be funny as hell to see Floyd wrestling that big fellow. Ive always thought Wrestling was hilarious, and Floyd trying to do it will be even more funny. Ill end up watching it on the internet, itll be so funny.

Floyds character on WWE is so lousy, haha. Ill tell you what tho, his bodyguards are pretty huge. I hope they start bustin in the ring in the middle of the goofiness.

the real point is, most people DONT watch WWE. they wont see any of the stuff Floyd does on it. but they will probebly hear about it. which ends up making Floyd a bigger name to normal people, just like that whole Dancing thing

I really could give a *** less. If Floyd's not in the ring I don't care too much about what he's doing. WWE fell off along time ago. It died after The Rock left.

I dont know why some of you care what he does, If he fights inthe ring he gets abuse if he doesnt he gets abuse..Some of you guys like Deevel..2501 on the balls or wrist or whatever his calling himself these days just spew out the same old crap every single day, If someone had said Mayweather is the face of boxing you lot would have been barking out how he hasnt done anything for the sport blah blah blah...If the WWE fans hates him let them thats his business NOT yours..Move on, He have other boxers to discuss who are actually active and need some exposure right now.
