I see tons of Marquez fans scoring round 7 for him and claiming their boy got robbed. That's just ridiculous considering he hit nothing but glove most the round while eating hard left hands to the face. I've been scoring it again and so far my live scorecard of 114-113 for Pacquiao has been on point through 7 rounds. Not sure how anybody had Marquez winning 8 rounds. 7 maybe but not 8. No way could this fight have been a robbery because neither guy clearly won 7 rounds.
How the hell did anyone score round 7 for Marquez

This is the round I need to see again.
I'll watch the whole thing again. When I've actually done some ****ing coursework.
I liked what Marquez was doing, if you didn't know the two guys, you'd conclude that Marquez was the better fighter wouldn't you?
he was supreme at times. -
but judging a fight isn't all about who looks good or who looks more skilled by the book. it's the one who does more damage to the other. This is the round I need to see again.

Marquez is absolutely the better fighter technically, but intangibles are huge in professional boxing. Pacquiao hits like a truck and has showed a tremendous chin, which probably won him both fights against Marquez. I've told people tons of times if I was trying to give someone who never watches boxing the image of an all-around solid fighter I would point to the Marquez brothers because they can both throw every punch in the game, both have great defense, and they have shown heart in the past.
Still, while Marquez has all the attributes of a better fighter, Pacquiao is undoubtedly the better man between them. I thought Pac clearly won the first fight and had him by a point in this fight.
As for round 7, Marquez was winning the first half of it but only because neither guy was doing much of anything. After the headbutt, Pacquiao starts landing his left just like he does from rounds 7-10 in the first fight, none of which I think you can give to Marquez. Sorry but combination punching means nothing to me if it does no damage and most of it hits gloves anyway. I prefer Pacquiao knocking JMM's head straight back over and over to flashy 4-5 punch combos to the gloves.Comment

I scored it for Marquez and still had Pacman winning 114-113.
It was a really tough round to score, both were trading bombs and going toe to toe, but I thought Marquez got the better of pacman, who looked off balance after the exchanges.
Could have gone either wayComment

I think you have to remember that there are really just a few extremely vocal individuals in opposition to the decision. Also, i think the result of this fight is so heavily disputed because scoring this fight depends on what you look for. The agressor or the counter puncher. In my most humble opinion Regardless of style Pac was landing the much stronger punches. And because the fight was so close, it is outrageous for JMM to act the way he is acting. His sportsmanship is not a disgrace to the sport but a complete disgrace to himself and his team.Comment

I gave marquez round 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 11, and 12 gave pac man 3(10-8), 4, 7, 9, 10 = marquez 115-114
rounds 1, and 9 we were close i thought i went for marquez in round 1 cos he landed a good right hand and for ring generalship, went pac round 9 cos he did more damage
The knockdown round in round 3 makes the decision close, as i had marquez winning it up until the last 30 sec when pac man scored the knockdown, which i think causes a 3 point swing on everyones score card, even though round 8 was the most dominant round for either fighter pac man looked ready to go, showed a lot of heartComment

I stand by my score of 114-113 for Pacquiao after my second viewing. A good competitive fight, but I don't think anybody can say Marquez won 7 rounds, which he needed to in order to win the fight.Comment

you've got to be kidding. Round 8 was a clear one for Marquez, but the only time this fight was anywhere close to looking like it would be stopped was when Marquez grabbed the ropes to stay on his feet in round 3. He was out on his feet and 2 punches away from being knocked out.I gave marquez round 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 11, and 12 gave pac man 3(10-8), 4, 7, 9, 10 = marquez 115-114
