He did manage to land his fair share of punches, Guzman's punches are sharp and fast, he could land frequently if he uses his jab, move around he could neutralize Pacquiao's flurries and left hand because Guzman is slick, slicker than Marquez I think.

i mean guzman should fight marquez, juarez, urban antillon, valero, all them young hungry fighters that they are saying first and prove he can fight pacquiao. he will be exposed anytime anyway. unless he does that run run run

Guzman is in his prime, Marquez is not - although still very good(enough to take it to Pac). that is why people want to see Pac fight Guzman. Marquez vs Guzman would still be a very interesting fight.

You do realize that the only type of boxer which can beat Pac in his prime right now is only one type of a boxer.

Fast, a countepuncher, and most of all A VERY POWERFUL HITTER.

But the bottomline, Guzman wants Pac, then do what Pac has done. Fight the best. Barrera didnt want any part of Pac but Pac made himself a mandatory for MAB. Same goes for JMM when he ran out of a career payday and opted for CJ.

Guzman needs to step up and create a buzz for himself.

I don't believe Pac was mandatory for MAB. The fight wasn't even sanctioned by any belt organization. Pac beat everybody in 122lbs. He was fresh meat in 126lbs.

He was already a mandatory for Mab before the JMM-MAB fight. If memory serves me correct, even earlier than that.

Not really that relevant. Guzman already has one of the super featherweight belts. So, as far as Joan deserving a shot at Pac, I think Guzman has earned it.

Since Pac seems to be moving up a JMM/Guzman fight makes a lot of sense since after Pac those are the two best guys. You could maybe consider Valero, but I think JMM and Guzman would beat him rather handily. The speed and quickness of Guzman would provide problems for JMM, but JMM finds ways to suceed and I wouldn't doubt if he did that against Guzman. Since Guzman seems to be having trouble making 130 as well then I could see him fighting Pac at LW maybe somwhere down the road, but Guzman's problem is that right now he doesn't got that appeal that gets him those big fights.

Valero will never get a title shot in the US. The possible lawsuit is too risky. Valero has a cracked skull and that pretty much makes him not suitable as a boxer in the US.

Yeah that's the other big problem with Valero is that he probably won't be able to fight in the US. So that's gonna make it hard for him to get the bigger fights.

On February 5, 2001, Valero was involved in a severe motorcycle accident in which he wasn't wearing a helmet. He fractured his skull and had surgery to remove a blood clot. This injury was sustained prior to him launching his pro career, and it has created roadblocks to major bodies sanctioning his fights. Valero claims that his Venezuelan doctor cleared him to fight on January 17, 2002, and he turned pro that July with a first-round KO.

Valero appeared to hit the jackpot when he was signed after his 12th pro fight by Golden Boy Promotions. Valero was scheduled to appear on HBO's Boxing After Dark, but in January 2004, he failed an MRI due to brain scan irregularities in New York and thus was not allowed to fight in the United States. As a result, the fight did not take place. Although he continues to fight outside the United States, he will not be allowed to fight in that country until he clears his medical tests with a state athletic commission.
