I would say that Collazo and Castillo(the version Hatton fought) are indeed lesser fighters than Witter, but the Castillo fight is acceptable as i would imagine that he is a big name in the US and Hatton needed attention. These are only recent fights though, why didn't Hatton fight Witter when they were both on the domestic scene? That's where all this stems from. Anyway the fear comes from not how dangerous Witter is, Hatton isn't scared of being hurt, but the consequences of losing to him. If Hatton lost to Witter it would affect his status in British boxing big time IMO. Hatton would rather lose to a flyweight than Witter.

Witter would lose to Collazo handily, Witter aint big enough to fight this guy who would not look out of p;ace at 154.

Castillo was the fight the world wanted to see, most picked him to beat Hatton, only now that he get demolished in 4 rounds is he past it.

Ricky was going up the ladder all the time on domestic level, winning british and comonwealth titles, Witter was doing nothing, well, except fight the alan bosworths of this world and then call Ricky out after beating journymen like that.

There careers have never been on the same level, Witter has tried to build himself a career off Hattons name and i find it laughable how many people in this thread are buying the BS (probably well known haters on this forum, i dont know, i dont post here much).

He has a title now yeah, he's still fighting for monkey nuts though, i have it on good authority that his biggest payday has been 120k, that was for the Harris fight, it maskes no sense for a fighter like Hatton who's paid his dues to fight against Witter in a fight that would make nothing stateside, hell, Lazcano is worth more to Hatton than Witter is, Witter needs to start hoovering up all the other titles and make himself this boxoffice star he thinks that he is, this clown thinks he's due a living, he needs to earn it!

Having a soup title dont make you a big time fighter either, you have to get yourself noticed and get exposure.

Come on, Witter was climbing the ladder just like Hatton, he was going along winning the British, commonwealth and european titles, and his early competition was no better than Witters, lets not make out like Hatton was fighting house hold names. Even back then Hatton/Witter was a fight the British boxing fans wanted to see, it would have easily been a bigger fight than some of the no names on his record. I have to say for a man that is apparently a nobody and awful lot of people are wanting to see Witter fight Hatton, he's easily a bigger name than Lazcano who alot of fans had to look up when they heard his name.

And on Collazo and Castillo, Witter is bigger than Hatton so if an in your face offensive fighter like Hatton can win against him i think a slick boxer with a solid defence like Witter would also stand a good chance. And as i remember it was mostly the haters that picked Castillo to beat Hatton, i remember alot of people including myself thought that Castillo was on the slide and that Hatton would take him out.

This fight will happen down the road IMO, just not now. It'll be the fight after he beats Paulie.

Witter never won the british title, the first time he won the comonwealth belt was against Lovemore. Hatton was beating guys like Mcghee, Thaxton, Phillips, Takie when Witter was still fighting nobodys like Bosworth....Comparing careers and records is a laugh, look at who both guys have been fighting at the same points of thee careers and you'll see Witter was irelivent.

Witter is 1 inch taller than Hatton and is not as strong as him, Collazo would make him look foolish if they ever stepped in the ring together.

Sure he did, he beat Bosworth for the British title, he didn't defend it and went and won the commonwealth title straight afterwards. Why is Thaxton considered an impressive name? Looking at boxrec he had a 19-5 record when Hatton fought him, so is he better competition than Witter? I certainly wouldn't say so.

Still, all this doesn't explain why Hatton never fought Witter and it is undeniable that he fought a ton of guys that have less impressive records than Witter, smaller names, and less talent. It's a fact.

To be honest.....It seems like you're making excuses. Look at them today...who cares what they've done in the past...its about the the present not the past.. They should fight and the fans want to see, so I dont buy into this bull**** Hatton is talking.
