paquiao blocked alot of punches but people seem to give fighters credit for trying like taylor. marquez did land alot of good counterpunches but not everything he threw landed . a punch did cause the cut over marquez eye it was a straight left in the ninth round the headbutt in the 8th only caused a little cut in the corner of marquez eye
Who won Pacquiao vs Marquez II?

Marquez may have had a bunch of his shots blocked, but Pacquiao was flat out missing completely with more of his. personally, I think that a punch that is blocked does a bit more damage than a punch that completely misses. altho really, it depends on the situation.paquiao blocked alot of punches but people seem to give fighters credit for trying like taylor. marquez did land alot of good counterpunches but not everything he threw landed . a punch did cause the cut over marquez eye it was a straight left in the ninth round the headbutt in the 8th only caused a little cut in the corner of marquez eye
and I thought that the headbutt started the cut, and one of Pacquiao's straight lefts opened it up bigger. Marquez would have ended up with a cut by the end of the fight either way probebly, but I dont think the cut would have been as badComment

Most of Marquez's punches that landed were in round 8 giving him the edge in total punch landed. In some rounds that Marquez looked good most of his punches were blocked by Pacquiao. In the 1st round I don't think that 1 particular right hand is enough to give it to Marquez, Pacquiao outlanded him twice as more. The first cut on Marquez's eye was caused by a headbutt but not the second, it was a left hand in the 9th. Pac actually did good in the latter rounds he won 9th and 10 thconvincingly. The 12th could've gone either way and 10-10 is more appropriate imo.thats nice, but it doesnt matter! that is only 3 rounds right there, and those are rounds that I gave for Pacquiao. overall, I thought Marquez was outboxing Pacquiao and countering too effectively, numerous times Pacquiao's head would get snapped back from Marquez's counter right hands. If thats not clean punching, I dont know what is.
and Pacquiao didnt exactly look fantastic at the end of the fight either, they were both busted up, truly showed how great of a fight it was, haha. but Marquez's cut was caused by a headbutt, wasnt it?
there were a lot of rounds where Pac just couldnt land the left hand, and Marquez would come countering him with combinations after he missed. and they were effective combinations too, that has to score you some points.
they werent that great of punches, and the only real effective punch in the round was that right hand of Marquez's that snapped back Pacquiao's head. I gave it to Pacquiao, but I sort of can get why people would have given it to Marquez, it was a pretty close round.Comment

I never really got the impression that JMM had a ton of fans.
Im not sure how the 12th went either way...could have gone either way for the first 2 minutes of it, but I thought Marquez pulled ahead in the last minute clearly...Most of Marquez's punches that landed were in round 8 giving him the edge in total punch landed. and are you going by compubox numbers? that shouldnt effect your scoring at all. cause I could go ahead and say that Pacqia landed twice the punches Marquez did in the first round, and that messed up the final punchstats, see? It can go either way. and even if the compubox numebrs were true, the it wasnt the number of punches that Marquez landed that won him rounds, it was his clean right hands that snapped Pacquio's head back, along with clean left hooks and body shots.Last edited by Steak; 03-16-2008, 01:16 PM.Comment

Like I said most of Marquez's punches landed on Pac's arms. Pac half blocked most of Marquez's combo's that's why I didn't think they were effective.I never really got the impression that JMM had a ton of fans.

I know they don't b/c they continue to parade around proving it with every post . What's surprising is Team JMM has been just as tasteless in their behavior post fight.Comment

I was being sarcastic. You're not acting any more mature than them by repeatedly posting the same thing!Comment
