    Manfredo stops Benfield

Super middleweight "The Pride of Providence" Peter Manfredo, Jr. (29-5, 14 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Shane "The Irish Hitman" Benfield (17-2, 9 KOs) on Friday night at the Twin River Events Center in Lincoln, Rhode Island. The Contender: Season One star's body attack finally took its toll and the bout was stopped at 2:30 of round six. In the co-feature, three-time female world champion Jaime "The Hurricane" Clampitt (18-5-1, 7 KOs) defended her IWBF lightweight crown with a majority decision over Belinda Larcuente (23-22-3, 9 KOs). Scores were 97-93, 97-93, 95-95.

Was wondering what happend in that fight, also wonder if Peter will ever get another shot at anyone worth while? Maybe an Allan Green or Edison Miranda/Mikkel Kessler winner?

Gotta give him a lot of credit after taking a lot of L's though. He still has the determination to stay in the game.

You gotta give it to guys like Manfredo and Gomez, they really used their Contender names.

They used it CORRECTLY. You capatilize on that fame, I wouldn't be suprised if a VERY GOOD boxer joins, one that seems to be avoided.

Hell yeah man, I respect both of them...

                They both got balls.

Roach is doing a good job training Manfredo.

I don't understand the disrespect for Manfredo, he's a down to earth guy. I mean he outboxed Lacy but showed balls trading with him even though it cost him the fight. When asked why he abondoned his strategy here on boxingscene he answered honestly by saying he's ******. Hell, if they were to fight again I can see Manfredo beating him by decision. If Calzaghe decides to stay at 175 this guy might win a belt one day.

I'm not counting him out just yet
