    K.

Both you and I know that if your boy hadn't dropped his hands......he would have never lost a fight to Robbie Peden to begin with.

I mean obviously the first series of punches didn't phase Campbell.......but he turned to the ref and looked for a second, breaking focus looked back and kept his hands down, then ate the shot.

I'd say that classifies as a lucky win for Peden. LMFAO his guy dropped his guard totally and that's like winning the lottery.

**** what we know now about Campbell..........that loss looks terrible in retrospect because it was flukeish.

      I don't lack perspective. I just can't read minds.

I didn't understand what you meant by that first post.
      The second made sense.

      The third too. I agree.

well there are a lot of weird punches...i dont call penalosa's ko of gonzalez lucky.... he was trowing acurate power shots to gonzalez' body to wear him down.....without much success.....he obviously intended to go to the body but i dont think he was gunning for a one shot ko punch...not even one that would hurt his opponent badly....and yet it landed in the perfect spot...

normally i would say no, there is no such thing as a lucky punch, but there are exceptions to that.

the way i normally look at it is this, if the fighter is intending to hit his opponent and the punch lands and he gets the ko, it's not a lucky punch because he planned on hitting him with a punch that he threw.

            BUT,

if a lunch lands when a fighter is throwing a punch with his eyes closed and wasn't looking to see where it was going or where it was going to land, then i would say that it is a safe bet to call a punch like that a lucky punch.

i.e., taver vs jones 2, tarver was being beat to the punch and was getting out worked in the first 2 rounds, until he threw a punch with his eyes closed and when he opened them jones was out and he won the fight, from what i remember of that fight, it was the only real punch tarver threw, and he had his eyes closed.................lucky punch......

but other than that i don't think that there are too many lucky punches in boxing, only the rare exception here and there.
