supervisor at work claims Tyson would smash Ali if both were in their primes

guy has a real good head on his shoulders too...

it's funny to hear someone say **** like this, luckily for him it was just him and myself in the truck, and nobody else heard him.

I'd lean towards Ali too, but you never know! Tyson was a hell of a lot better than Cooper, London, Mildenberger, Terrell, Williams and Folley (the guys Ali fought in his prime). Its easy to look masterful against those of a lesser calibre.

Its just that I dont see Tyson knocking out a guy who took the best punches of Liston, Frazier, Foreman and Shavers. Ali also had excellent 15 round fitness, Tyson never fought past round 12 so I'd favour a decision for Ali. Its not a fight I'd have betted on though.

It's not like its a ridiculous statement, you not even giving a prime tyson a chance is more absurd than saying tyson can couldve beat Ali.

Frankly speaking I see Ali winning this one, but Tyson was a ****ing beast who could move forward real fast. I doubt he would be able to knock Ali down with one punch though, because that's the only thign he will be able to land on prime Ali.

yeah this is def not the most ridiculous idea I've heard.

That goes to whoever started the poll thread about who would win out of haye and ali.

The problem is a prime Ali was difficult to hit, Dances, Throw the jab at you going backwards and does 15 rounds without any problems, Tyson has the power and speed by Ali marches him in every department and more except for power, I would still favour a prime ali versus a prime tyson anytime of the day.

Its easy to make that assumption after you have seen Tyson in bad performances, no different than today when a fighter loses, people discredit them and dont see them as a threat anymore. Even though you say prime, Im sure its hard for you to get out of your head the bad fights Tyson has had, and had this question been asked before the Douglas fight I wonder what people would have thought, oh I know because I remember people saying Tyson would never lose that he may go down as the greatest, that he was indestructable.

Funny thing is am not actually looking at a tyson that was beaten, am focusing on a prime tyson the ones that KO everything in his path(Marvin frazier, larry holmes,Spinks) That tyson, But am also looking at a young and prime ali( the one who was difficult to hit)by fighters like Liston ,Patterson e.g...I just think you can hurt what you cant hit. and ali can take a punch too.
