        wow, truly pathetic...
narrow minded and ignorant. Like a person stuck to his religion, with a clouded vision.

if you wanna talk about boxing type strikers in the mma, silva is not even the best guy. st.pierre, quinton rampage, liddell, leben are better boxer type punchers than silva. silva is more of a knee, elbow and submission specialsit than punching specialist even though he has faught 2 pro boxing matches. But no mma fighter right now could hang with a pro boxer.

i disagree with that. Im sure Silva and St. Pierre could win a couple of fights in the talent pool that consist of the fighters who appear on FNF. Like Ive said, I could see Silva becoming a tier 2 boxer. But he would have to concentrate on just Boxing alone for at least 2 years and build his way up. I DO agree that there is no possible way to transition DIRECTLY from MMA to Boxing and be successful.

He isn't but that's what majority of the MMA striking is like, wild brawling. You only need to land one punch with those small gloves.

There are many exceptions but lots of MMA fighters (I'm talking about the lower level guys) don't really have polished striking and just brawl it out with swinging haymakers like the guy in the video hoping to land a KO punch.

Chris Leben is a perfect example of a guy who only has a chin and a punch.

But then there are better strikers like for example Rampage Jackson:

Kickboxing: Rampage Jackson vs Cyril Abidi (top kickboxer at the time).
No one gave Rampage a chance in hell.

People thought Rampage just got lucky in this fight but they rematched and Rampage won a clear decision by outboxing Abidi again.

Kind of like what he's doing in MMA right now.

As for the topic I was wondering what kind of angles could Silva give Roy or a really good boxer that they haven't seen before in a boxing match. I mean if he was able to use elbows, knees, etc then yeah, but somebody like Roy im sure he's seen it all. That comment just doesn't make sense.

Like bmorebrawler said earlier MMA is a new thing and since it's new there are quite a few young fans. With young fans comes ignorant comments. Look at the new movie coming out (Never Give UP). There is one part where one kid says that boxing stuff doesnt cut it anymore. Which is ridiculous, well first of all boxing has been around forever and then any fighting style can be effective if you know it well and have proper technique and form.

                    how bout this one:

"So many ignorant people here in Sherdog. Anderson Silva could easily hang with David Haye. I would even give a slight edge to Anderson.

I suggest all you haters watch the youtube sparring match where Anderson owns Nogueira, man that head movement is fast.

Anderson vs Haye, Anderson by KO/TKO round 9-12 or by decision."

i just cant believe these so called "educated fight fans" are making these assumptions from watching a sparring video. its ****ing incredible. thank god these dudes arent boxing fans. atleast sherdog has some sensible posters though. alot of people repeating the same **** over and over which ignorant idiots keep ignoring. MMA: Silva > Jones Boxing: Jones > Silva

someone post a link to this thread in that thread so idiots like SUPERBiRDUS can realize that he may be one of the ******est people to ever plug in a phone line to a modem.
