Being self taught is what makes him special, his footwork and defensive skills would be a great foundation for a trainer to start with...
The angles are definitely there, speed and aggression is also there...
Considering the other guy is more experienced and his other advantages, your guy did good to pull the victory... at times his impatience cost him but that is only due to his inexperience, but saying that due to the other guys reach he had to get inside him proving that he's got a good boxing head...
Good solid all round skills, I disagree with the other poster declaring he's far from olympic ready, has he missed this years? which would be a shame as he'd be 26 for the next olympics which is too late really as you'd like him to be well into his pro career by that stage.
But I'll definitely keep my ears & eyes open for him...I appreciate you checking it out.
Excellent observations.
Double K your way.

The guy in red would live dangerously in the pro's.
He throws too many punches with no attention to his defense.
Most of the amateurs have this error in their style because they get away with it in the AM's.
There's talk of going back to 3x3 min rounds in the amateurs after the Olympics. That will hopefully make the sport better as the transition from AM to pro would be smaller.
The frantic pace of the amateur fights would also be countered some.
I hate amateur boxing. You don't get time to figure out, setting up and finally unleash the hurt you've been planning because of the short rounds.Comment

Plzzz no one look at me like im a ****.
But this makes me wanna train harder. I see all AM boxers as competition..... I feel so invigorated when I see another AM boxer doing good...borderline insulted but motivated...
anyone know what i mean? or get that feelings?Comment

I know the feeling.
It's annoying, but at the same time sweet. It makes you wanna train that little bit harder next time out.
What you doing on the computer anyways? Go out and run!!
