with little training and being self taught like u said, he looks impressive.. he looked sharp, he can definitely have a future in the sport as long as he keeps progressing, which it seems like he will

You could tell the guy in the blue had it as well when he let his hands go but I did think the guy in the red was a cut above. Maybe because of the experience.

He is pretty impressive if you consider that he had the flu, taught himself, etc. He should stay novice as long as he can before going open, an Olympic spot would be a longggg shot, but then again I don't know the quality of the country's competition, but if you want to see what you will deal with, look no further:

Thanks for the post. The handspeed looks pretty good in there.. But there doesn't seem to be much heavy contact going on. I didn't see anything as remotely clean or hard as the guy was landing that I posted at the top of the thread. Lots of amateur style scoring though.. Can you give me some more background on this?

This Tommy kid is going to be a killer pro fighter. That's sort of the theme..

            Green K comin your way.

Hmmm, good find. I was also wondering how old he was? 22 hey? One thing I noticed is that he has a style that is much better suited to the pro ranks than the ams. I think with a bit of polish and a lot more experience this kid could go far! The only problem is he will have to get going if he is already twenty two.

He has a great style though. Offensive minded with solid technique backed by some very good defensive moves. I could imagine he likes Toney

Anyway, I think he could be a name to look out for especially if he has not had a lot of training because with some good training he could shoot up in the lacking skills that would be necessary for him to do well in the pros and become quite a fine little fighter!

Either you know Boxing or we're both crazy! I couldn't agree more.

You made some excellent points, BennyST.

                Input greatly appreciated.

                Green K for you, sir.

Interesting fighter. At first it looked like red was completely taking over but after the first minute or so he started to get nullified. Some good upper-body movement.

Being self taught is what makes him special, his footwork and defensive skills would be a great foundation for a trainer to start with...

The angles are definitely there, speed and aggression is also there...

Considering the other guy is more experienced and his other advantages, your guy did good to pull the victory... at times his impatience cost him but that is only due to his inexperience, but saying that due to the other guys reach he had to get inside him proving that he's got a good boxing head...

Good solid all round skills, I disagree with the other poster declaring he's far from olympic ready, has he missed this years? which would be a shame as he'd be 26 for the next olympics which is too late really as you'd like him to be well into his pro career by that stage.

But I'll definitely keep my ears & eyes open for him...
