    1. This is a bounce back fight after losing to the #1 pfp champion. Nothing wrong with that.
    2. Everyone is a Hatton hater all of a sudden.
    3. There isn't a clear challenger. To me it's Witter. Second comes Malignaggi. Hatton is "the man" at 140, why don't they fight each other to determine who the best opponent is?
    4. Lazcano is a poor opponent. I would have liked him to fight at least another beltholder, even Gavin Rees.
    5. I don't buy all the "good will" with the fans. Yes he's a nice 'bloke' but they shouldn't be going on about it 24/7.
    6. If you don't want to buy the fight, just catch a stream. It'll be on regular HBO in the States and plenty of people will be streaming.

Just what I was thinking. It's only the beer guzzling, football fan Hatton lovers that will see this as anything other than a tune up! My god, is it really SO strange in modern boxing that after a tough fight you need to bounce back against a 2nd tier opponent before going back into the limelight!

Hatton will be back later this year to confirm his dominance at 140.

This is a tune-up fight and a thank you to his loyal fans which will most likely be his last in the UK with Hatton's three fight deal with HBO starting after Lazcano, with a unification bout with Malinaggi at MSG this year.

Then Hatton is most likely going to go after a rematch with Floyd or a fight Pacman should they both win. Witters best bet to get a fight with Hatton is to get another belt from Torres or Rees. With both Hatton and Witter fighting for DLH the fight will no doubt happen in 2009 should both fighters not lose before.
No wrong. HBO are not interested in the Lazcano fight because a week later there showing Zab Judah Vs Shane Mosley...

Hatton going for a rematch with floyd or even fighting pacman just shows he aint looking to do nowt at LW.... The Malinaggi fight is just for the money nothing else...

After the "head the ringpost" incident Hatton said he's going back down to LW to show he's still the man at 140... How does fighting Lazcano, then Malinaggi, then a rematch with floyd then Pacman prove your the man @ 140???? please help me out here because I'm having trouble seeing the obvious!!!

For him to come back to 140 and show he's the man he as to fight witter, torres, Malinaggi and even gavin rees..

Hatton is no longer the warrior he once was (or better put claimed to be) he as now become the sports personality who as the ability to pick and choose who he wants to fight. Just like de la hoya, only difference is he aint no de la hoya.

i think after this fight hatton will fight witter and malignaggi in the 140 division - they are the only two fighters who he really needs to beat and to b honest the only 2 fightes wort beating after that he may have another pop at money mayweather or maybe even gavin rees.

but i think if after his next fight with lazcano hatton doesn't make it clear that he intends to take on witter he will lose alot of respect and support.

At this point of his career Hatton should not be wasting his time with tune ups that are worth nothing. He can fight Mallignatti for a belt and beat him without much trouble. He could choose to fight Torres, at least.

I think he is right not fighting Witter right now, it's a risky fight for him and he needs to be in perfect mental condition for this fight. It should happen later some time.

This fight is free in the US.

But i still won't be watching it.

You'd have to pay me to watch Ricky have "fat sex" with Lazcano. Hugging and picking the lint out of each others belly buttons for 10 rounds. And for the big KO climax...... Lazcano waxes Rickys unibrow.

That queen Hatton won't be able to run from Junior Witter soon. And he will be boxed into oblivion.

Ricky seems to be full of **** these days. What happened to him? He went over to America and got an ego.
