To any HBO viewers who speak Spanish...

When Larry Merchant interviews Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters, do the translators actually translate his eccentric comments, or just ask the question in a simple way?

"Miguel Cotto, sometimes I look out of my window and it's sunny. Other times it's cold and windy. In there tonight it seemed like when you look out your window you see a thunderstorm and you bring it with you to the fight, like a lion on a tennis court, wham bam thank you sir, asphinctersayswhat, and so that made it difficult for your opponent in there. What did you think of his jab?"

I thought this thread was going to be about how HBO needs a new interpreter. The guy that currently does most of the fights is ******ed sometimes! Like between rounds, they'll show the Mexican trainer with the fighter in the corner, yelling some **** in spanish, then this foo' comes on talkin bout "aaaahhhhhh, you gotta keep 'em up....aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh hit him...hit him hard.....aaaahhhhhhhh don't....................ahhhhhhhhh........hit him" lol, I know he misses hella ****

Its hard being a translator I think they do a good job gettin the basics of wat the corner says but they kinda slip in the post fight interview but in all honesty I wouldnt translate the garbage that Merchant says niether. WTF does teniss and good and bad weather have to do with anything lol, I like Merchent but he needs to keep it simple ******

merchant: Would you give Manny a rematch?

Marquez: Yes i would, even though i know i won the fight.

Torres: He said that he won the fight so there shouldnt be a rematch"

Mayorga:"That black guy's hair is real hard"
Torres: He said that black guy hits hard.

This is actually a comic thing in my house, we get excited when he translates because hes so off

yeah the corner translations suck! but he still puts emotion into it which is cool i guess. He changes some of the wording on the post fight interviews. could be better.
