Haye can be as good as Lennox

    Danny Williams on David Haye:
DANNY WILLIAMS believes David Haye can follow in the footsteps of Lennox Lewis by dominating the heavyweight division.

Lewis retired as the undisputed champion in 2004 and Williams is confident Haye has the ability to do the same.

The Brixton fighter said: "Once David has put on the extra weight he will be punching even harder than Wladimir Klitschko.

"I've sparred with him a million times and I have hardly ever been hit so hard.

"I was immensely impressed with his win over Enzo Maccarinelli and I can see this move up to heavyweight as the start of the next big thing for British boxing.

"I'd put him in with any of the champions tomorrow and I think he'd beat them all.

"His level of improvement has been colossal and every time you see him he looks even better.

"People question his chin but I've hit it often enough in sparring and he hasn't gone anywhere."

From what I've seen of him, his skills aren't as good as Lewis'.

Haye does seem to have improved to me as well. I hadnt seen that much of Haye. Only seeing him lose to Carl and being put on his backside by a supermiddle weight i cant remember the name of. So i didnt think that much of Haye.
I seem to be watching a different man to back then. I wonder what happened. Was it a new trainer or something?

That's interesting because if there is one thing Danny can do it's hit HARD, he has real knockout heavyweight power.

Haye is not 1/2 the boxer Lewis was. Lennox is an atg heavy ffs! He best learn to keep his left up or he gonna be tasting the canvas. He has good power and speed, but he is very weak defensively, and we need to see how he handles real hw power! Till he fights a good heavy i will remain neutral on him. i hope he does well, and he is very exciting for the division, but to say he will eclipse LL at this point is a joke, kind of like Williams himself!

He'll never be as good as Lenox.

First of all, we'll need to see if Haye can take a punch from a top 10 HW before we go crowning him the next HW savior. I think his chin is questionable and he'd get KO'd by Wlad, Peter, Maskaev, Rahman, and Virchis (maybe even Brewster). We'll have to wait and see, tho.
