    The commentators suck...thats true.

However each has their strengths and weaknesses.

HBO has the bigger names (ie. De la hoya; mayweather; pacquiao; hopkins; etc.)

Remember though each provider has boring fights. its bound to happen.

    Each has great fights though.

Shotime had the marquez v. vasquez fights; corrales v. castillo I etc.

Hbo is likely to have the better fights more often due to the fact they have more top fighters fighting each other but ESPN's FNF has great fights sometimes too.

they have bad ones as well.

but you cant blame them for the fights...commentators yes...but for the fights being good or not you cant.

they just broadcast it. they dont make the fights...thats what boxer's do in the ring and what managers/promoters do outside of it.

the one thing i like better about shotime is that they have much more fights than HBO and dont have anywhere near as many PPV's...

with shotime you can get 3 fights in a weekend or 2 fights a weekend...and sometimes every week for 6 straight weeks...if hbo has 3 fights in a month HBO customers are lucky.

either way i think it all works out overall

HBO has the high-profile guys, but Showtime has some very good fighters. You'll always see RJJ on HBO, but do you really want to see him at this point fighting guys like Tito and trying to get DLH to fight him??? I'd rather see the two best Light Heavies going at it in Dawson and Glen Johnson. HBO cares about protecting their "investments", Showtime puts fights together for the fans.

showtime has some great fights! castillo/corrales, vas/marq 1 2 and 3. They also got a great card coming up in dawson/johnson tarver/woods. Hbo just has bigger stars because at the end it has more money. But both networks do a good job in my opinion.
