What's the most a fighter has fought in one year?

I ask this because I'm watching "Raging Bull," and I started looking up Jake Lamotta. He fought 20 times in 1941. He averaged about 8 fights a year. I was just wondering what the most amount of times that a fighter has fought in one year. I think it'd be a pretty interesting stat.

It depends on what level fighter you are talking about. A true top 10 fighter or a guy just out there looking to make some cash (ie: Reggie Strickland)

Guys would fight two times a week back in the day. One of my coaches, a real old timer (you haven't heard of him) finished a fight in Toronto, had a shower then jumped on the train to Montreal to fight the next day. He said it was a great experience. He got paid twice in one weekend.

in general the old skool dudes fought a ton more than the guys of 2day. hell some of them even had to hold full time jobs while training/fighting! as in just about everything we are spoiled with the luxury we have 2day, and 2days fighters are no different!

The top guys could fight full time. The vast majority of fighters today work full time jobs in between fights, not everyone makes a good living between the ropes.

Ha, Maxie Rosenbloom and Jack Britton both had some hellacious chins.
Britton was ko'ed once in 307 fights and that was in his second pro fight in 1905. Rpsebloom was ko'ed twice in an almost equal number of fights.
