When a Pacquiao gets beaten by JMM and moves his ass to Lightweight we might see some life in the division and I agree 100% with left2body that the age when Mayweather, Corrales, Castillo, and Casamayor ruled the division is gone.

Campbell would tear Katsidis to pieces. Campbell is at his best against come forward big punchers, he tears them apart...like how he did against Zegan and Kid Diamond

and lighten up yall...Pacquiao is gonna be moving up soon, Anthony Peterson is going to start fight the top guys sooner or later, Amir Khan is just stepping up to the top of division, Katsidis is exciting, and people dont think about him much, but honestly, Jose Armando Santa Cruz isnt too bad.
and Campbell and Diaz are still in the division. I would still love a fight between Katsidis and Diaz, thats for sure.

This division isnt bad at all, and has a very promising future because of Peterson and Khan.

Casamayor is old and will surely by the looks of it not be as good no more. Juan Diaz was beaten by an older fighter in a fight in which he was supposed to win. Diaz was pretty much was keeping the division running as he was the top dog but not anymore. David Diaz is simply not that good, he struggled against an old Morales that was KOed in his fight prior by a 135 pounder in 3 rounds. His win against Santa Cruz was out of pure luck, in a fight where Santa Cruz was pretty much dominating. Jose Santa Cruz is probably the best fighter in the division in my opinion, but theres always something that keeps blocking him from ascending to the top of the division. His fight against David Diaz he was KOed after having dominated the action, when he showcased his true talent and schooled the linear champion Casamayor in a one sided bout he was brutally robbed. Nate Campbell is an old fighter which probably wont fight for very long. Dont get me wrong he is a great fighter and he proved it against Juan Diaz but that seems like that as far as he will get. I dont see him beating anyone else in the division decisevely. Michael Katsidis is the Arturo Gatti of this age, and we will have to see how far he gets with that wild brawling style. He will get his biggest break when he meets Casamayor which he will probably beat because of Casamayor degrading talent. Katsidis was busted up by an unknown Czar Amonsot and had troubles with Graham Earl who was KOed in one round by Amir Khan. And then theres fighters like Amir Khan and Anthony Peterson. Chances are these two will probably prove nothing in the division but only using it as pit stop for their future careers at 140lbs or 147lbs. Too me this division isn't really as interesting as everyone thought. Thats just me, what do you think about it?

I think in light of the cut on diaz' eye that i believe caused him the fight it will call for a rematch.

Dont be surprised if this fight happens again before the year is over...and rightfully so.

Nate Campbell DID have the fight of his life but i believe the only reason he won down the stretch is because diaz was REALLY bothered by the cut and was having trouble seeing with that eye...he also favored it heavily by keeping his left hand around his eye for much of the 2nd half of the fight...so he was basically fighting one handed and we all know he needs both hands to fight his style...he's no floyd mayweather who can work off of one punch at a time with one hand only if he chooses.

I think Juan Diaz' time of being a top fighter in that division will be limited should he keep fighting the way he does...the HBO crew touched on that and i couldnt agree more. It makes for exciting fights but your time is limited when you take hundreds of punches that could be avoided with some better defense and more tactical boxing.

I believe there should be a rematch (since the cut was originally started on a headbutt...later broke wide open with a fist...) and if campbell wins again then he's better than diaz...but lets see if the cut really made the difference in the fight. i believe so.

        why?

diaz dominated the fight until the cut. plain and simple...after that he became a handicaped fighter taking punishment with a cutman who could have changed the result last night had he known how to close cuts...

take nothing away from campbell though. he fought like a veteran and exploited that weakness in the cut of diaz' eye. i expected CAMPBELL to fade down the stretch and he really proved me wrong...he must have trained hard with very good conditioning excersies...

First half was contender for fight of the year, second half, not so much.

I actually thought the fight was kinda sloppy comparing to Vazquez-Marquez, but then again who could top those guys?
