I've had a bad feeling that Toney was permanently affected by Peter's rabbit punches, he's not been the same since that first fight.
he used a growth hormone for his ankle, which was injured. which counts as 'steroids'...but at this point, this was the first time James Toney had ever weighed over 230lbs. and people do use steroids all the time for medical reasons, like some people use steroids to fix problems with their throat. anyways, he was NOT in shape, and steroids did not help him at all. steroids never really would have ever helped his style at heavyweight anyway...He also tested positive for them for the Batchelder fight, and that no doubt was the worst he has ever looked ever in his career.

yea, I felt Toney faded a lot after the 1st Peter fight too. Age finally started catching up with him, and his weight also started playing a huge factor too. he did take some pretty big shots in the first Peter fight...Im not sure how the rabbit punches hurt him, I didnt think most of them were too bad, but Im sure they hurt him a little.
I think its mostly age and unhealthy lifestyle catching up to him. After all, he turned 38 leading to the 2nd Peter fight...pretty damn old for an overweight guy trying to fight at heavyweight.

If there was a referee who would stop Peter from rabbit punching, then I think Ruiz would win a wide decision over Sam.

I would hope that Peter would get rid of Ruiz. Ruiz isn't good for heavyweight boxing, I won't watch or buy any fight cards he's involved with, and I'm sure a lot of fans feel the same way. The last time I watched a Ruiz fight, his grappling tactics had me so frustrated I wanted to rip the TV of the wall and throw it out the window.

Ruiz=throw one punch, tie up, &wrestle until the ref breaks them. over and over for 10 or 12 rounds. It drives me ****ing insane to watch him "box".

I hope he fights Peter and Peter ****ing rocks his world ala David Tua.

How many fights can Ruiz be involved in where the fans are leaving the area and/or chanting/booing against him will it take for promoters to leave this guy alone?

Ruiz has always done well with the bigger heavyweights, and had problems with the smaller quicker guys.

He's style is dreadful, but that **** works.

After seeing Peter in his last couple of fights, I can see this fight going either way. I would be inclined to pick Peter by a late TKO, but Peter has really looked like **** in his last two fights. He might not have trained too hard because he has his power to rely on.

Key to Ruiz is blasting him out in the first round.

He's too efficient with his stamina, and has the best clinch I've ever seen in modern heavyweight boxing.

Ruiz has beat some good, solid fighters, by going in there and not boxing them. He basically shuts them down all together by tying them up, wrestling, and sneaking in a few shots here &there. Dreadful **** &he SHOULD be penalized for it, as Peter should be for his rabbit punching, although Peter is leaps and bpunds more fun to watch, because he will enage in a fight. Like another poster said, the key to beat Ruiz is to blast him, like Tua did. I think Peter has the ability to do that, and I think Wladimir Klitschko beats him too. I prob. won't see it though, as I won't waste my $$$ on another Ruiz fight ever again. I'd rather put in a re-run of Chris Byrd beating Ross Purity.
