Ruiz defeated McCline more easily than Peter

Last night, John Ruiz won a very wide, clear decision over Jameel McCline. He didn't get knocked down. McCline had a lot of time to prepare for the fight...

A few months ago, Sam Peter won a somewhat controversial, close decision over McCline. Sam was knocked down three times in that fight. McCline took the fight on short notice, he probably wasn't fully prepared.

I wonder how Ruiz would do against Peter?

McCline was training to fight Vitali before Vitali's training camp got to him again. Styles make fights, Ruiz' style (if you can call it a style), was perfect to beat McCline.

Peter would beat Ruiz but it'd be a boring fight.

and Toney beat Ruiz more easily than Chagaev. odd.

but Ruiz probebly could beat Sam. Ruiz would just pop that punch and hug to death. Frankly, I dont think Peter's stamina could hold up. I might have to say Ruiz by decision...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ruiz win a decision over Peter.

I'd be quite worried about Peter's rabbit punching while clinching if I was Ruiz though...
But Ruiz has generally done well against punchers after the Tua fight because he is very cautious, doesn't take risks, can take a decent punch and knows how to hang on when hurt.

John Ruiz has more boxing skills and stamina than most of the HW punchers so he can pile up the points especially in the late rounds.

Toney was on steroids when he defeated Ruiz.

Toney's faded a lot between that time and the Batchelder fight, even between the two fights with Peter.

I've had a bad feeling that Toney was permanently affected by Peter's rabbit punches, he's not been the same since that first fight.

I can never bet against Ruiz. He's **** but he wins dammit. Actually his scraps against Toney and Roy Jones were semi exciting.

Weirdly enough, this might be true although I do not want to see that fight happen.

I must have done something wrong in a past life to have the possibility of Ruiz hanging around the division and getting another title shot.

So much for the new improved John Ruiz.
Send him off to Germany to fight those guys again. Then we can just read about him from a safe distance and not actually have to see him fight.

peter is not nearly as good as many think! he beat a 39 yr old inactive, injury ridden man, and till the 6th rd looked like ****! i was not impressed, and am feeling the hw div. is worse off than i thought! he is far from the man to rule, and make the division interesting along with wlad. yoiu hae wlad, and than everyone else. sad that we will not have any great fights as desired.

You know it's bad when I started thinking that Valuev looked pretty damn good in his last fight.

Check out the WBC ratings. Most of these guys are about 5 years past prime. Then we get the possibility of Vitali coming back after being inactive forever.

One step forward, two steps back....
