If that's based on the ref's decision to stop that fight then it's ******. Enzo was ****ing stumbling all over the ring not knowing where he was before the ref cornered him and waved the fight off. If the ref hadn't have called it Haye would have ended it conclusively with his next punch without question.

Yeah, can't fault the stoppage. Save for the formality of a mandatory 8, fight was done the second Enzo staggered into Keane like a pisshead at chucking-out time. Poor lad was 30 doors down ***** street.



Would've only bought him a few more seconds, but if Enzo had stayed down after the official knockdown he might have recovered his equilibrium just enough to convince the ref to let him carry on. Unfortunately -- or fortunately in this case, as nobody should require Enzo to take unnecessary punishment just to establish in their mind that, yes, he was indeed a beaten man -- when you get sledgehammered in the head with that kind of force, your wits are hardly where you need them to be.

Enzo still looked capable at that point because he made an effort to grab onto the ropes sideways and prop himself up, he didn't fall back onto the ropes so if the ref had called the count it would obviously have affected the scorecards (if the fight went the distance). But a bad move by Enzo, he should have just gone down the first time and taken a count.

In fact a similar thing happened to Haye in his last fight against Jean Marc Mormeck, he fell back on to the ropes and the referee didn't call the 8 but Haye took the knee which is what Enzo should have done here.. Refereeing was fine in my opinion and a very good stoppage.

Agreed. The worst ref tonight was in the Diaz vs. Cambell fight in Mexico anyways. But maybe the worst one I remember was in Vegas. Tyson vs. Lewis was as obvious of a bought off ref as I have ever seen. Richard Steel I think.

Enzo went down and the ref allowed Haye to continue hitting him. Thats the point I think.

that sums it up plus he should have called it when noodle legs did his dance, dude got rocked! That Haye has some potential at Heavy, Id put points on him against Peter who looked like **** tonight.
