it's considered boxing because guys got gloves on and punching each other but that's as far as it goes in terms of similarities. body punching, one of boxer's most valuable assets is not respected withing amateur rules of boxing. it's almost same as comparing it with sport of footbal. first as a bigginer in elementary school you play tag footbal, then you get to High School or College, and you got 250-300 angry football players trying to put you into hospital. same with amateur boxing, it's just too safe, and too soft. and point judging is too strict. i hate amateur boxing.

No doubt I believe it. I always lean forward for balance reasons and I get more leverage on my punch that way. My full back into it. Now, I'm not talking a noticeable lean forward where I could get hit by an uppercut, but just enough to make the technique work properly. I also feel most big punchers do add alittle forward lean. That or fighters like Trinidad as Jones mentioned in a commentatary, he puts a lot of weight on his front foot/leg, which can make you a slower target and harder to get out of the way of punches. But with a stable base, your power will definitely increase.
