Initially I thought it was a toss up.

But after rewatching a few fights of each, Fragomeni and Mormeck for Haye, and Braithwaite and Hobson for Macca.

Their two different classes of fighter aren't they?

Haye was very impressive going to the body against Mormeck who is world class. He controlled him on the inside, and he only got caught wit Right hands when he was Mormeck was too square on. Besides as has been said Macca is left hand happy. Haye got put down, but his recovery was impressive wasn't it?

Haye will land first again and again.

I like Macca alot so I hope it's a war. Haye is a better fighter though.
Your right, Haye is more skilled, but the most skilled fighter doesnt always win, sometimes being busy and following the fight plan properly is enough to win the fight. Plus enzo looked a bit better than his usual baked bean tin self against braithwaite, so he's shown that his skills may be improving.

In the beggining i was convinced haye would Knock him out easy and early, but now ive got a sneaky su****ision the fight might not live up to the hype, and enzo could possibly sneak it. I wonder how haye is gonna cope with the jab, obviously he will look to pick it off with the right hand, but enzo has to follow up the jab with something nice and right sided, if enzo can make a few changes he could pull off the upset.

I do kind of think if Macca wins it will be on points. Against Braithwaite he was very busy. If he has that Kind of workrate against Haye he should win more of the rounds. I also don't actually think either of these two guys chins are THAT BAD.

Macca got hit with few crisp punches against Braithwaite, and Haye got hit with every thing the kitchen sink, the kitchen door, the fridge, the kitchen table and a stool against Carl Thompson. He just gassed. He was semi hurt against Mormeck and he took some good un's against Fragomeni.

Exactly, right from the beggining of that fight you knew williams was in trouble, he's got no head movement and throws and for the sake of throwing punches and stop stop people throwing at him. (like amir khan) Once Quintana timed him with the lead punch he didnt wanna play anymore.

This is a tough fight for me. I like both fighters and dont want to see either of them lose. I like Enzo because he works hard, is powerful, is gritty and relies on graft rather than a natural talent. However, I like Haye because he's a more natural and skillfull boxer and also has utterly explosive power.

Haye is more ****y and careless, but he also has the better chance for the future. I fancy Haye to move up to Heavyweight, carry his power with him and develop into a fairly strong fighter up there, whereas win or lose all I see from Enzo is him dominating the Cruiserweight division. For those reasons I want Haye to win and think that he will. I dont think that either fighters have bad chins. I think that Enzo had a habit of getting tagged easily early in his career and when he did his spindly legs couldnt cope. With Haye, his chin isnt bad, his low left just means that every now and again he'll get utterly spanked.

It'll be interesting to see what happens tonight. With so much power in the ring, I really cant see it going the distance.

Haye keeps his left low because he emulates RJJ, the fighter he admired most while growing up.

Just watched the weight in now, haye looked menacing. Big Mac was in ok shape, his body will never be ripped anyways but he's quite lean, i think he's prepared for the whole 12.

Ps. David Haye could have been a mainstream professional model, Easily.

Ive seen Haye a few times in his early career at cruiser and snippets elsewhere. In the run up to the Maccarinelli fight i thought haye was gonna knock him out, simply because haye has been in with better opposition and is more skilled. But actually upon studying his skills quite closely its obvious he has 'Jermaine Taylor Syndrome'. The Symptoms being.

                  1) Keeping the left hand so low its near impossible not to be hit by a right hand

                  2) Allowing yourself to get backed up against the ropes too much

                  3) Loss of Head movement

I can see Enzo winning on points in this fight, i hope im wrong, i want Haye to win, but haye's head movement is the boxing equivalent of cheese and pineapple on a stick.

Enzo can win by setting up the jab on haye and firing the right hand and hook to the body off it. Haye also tends to be quite flat footed when throwing his shots and also tends to be off balance, enzo needs to try and time haye as he plants his feet to set off a big shot.

Either way, Iv'e seen some flaws in Haye, maybe they wont get exposed tonight, but Enzo could win this fight because of his jab and workrate, Haye's stamina problems are well documented tonight.

Dont be suprised if Enzo wins by UD in a close fight.
Uh yeah, I won't be suprised whatsoever to see Haye lose..

The only thing that suprises me is that it seems to be a foregone conclusion that he will win.

We been brainwashed. No seriously, most of the people right now going with Haye not really because they actually know all the implication but because they were told so and they just follow the crowd.

I actually wanted to discuss this in TC, but forgot, I really started noticing this effect since the Lacy/Blow fight, also Haye being black, having muscles and deemed as a big puncher has pretty much sttled it for the most people.

Definately, the truth is explicit and you have laid it out explicitly, cousin.

I had to make my own thread the other day about this fight, and besides you and myself virtually nobody on this side of the Atlantic seemed to know the first thing about this contest or the variables involved..
