Seems like a strictly financial bout, since Mayorga is pretty well known it should get some good ppv buys. Cotto by TKO due to a nonstop body onslaught, Mayo isn't getting taken out by any chin shots with that chin.

Ya because Zab didnt have him on the verge of being knocked out right before some lows right? Oscar, Trinidad, and Vargas are all harder punchers than Cotto and by far, even past his prime a Vargas punch at 170 is harder than a Miguel shot at welter. Mayorga has been taking hits from guys at higher weights, so of course they are going to be harder.

Miguel doesnt have one punch knockout power as some would like to believe. He breaks you down, and to do that he would have to stand in front of Mayorga, who at 147 had amazing power.

I wouldn't say that. Trinidad and DLH have both been referred to as blown up WWs, Cotto was also able to land more significant shots than Vargas and he actually beat Mosley, something Vargas couldn't do. I'm not saying he has one punch KO power and I don't think he needs it to beat Mayorga.

If you really are a Cotto fan than you must know he doesn't only break his opponents down by standing in front of them. He discourages them, makes them miss and counters effectively. Most of the people on this board said Mosley would beat Cotto because he couldn't box, now people are talking about him being a smart fighter something I've been saying for months.'

I see the flaws yes, but I also have been watching both fighters long enough to conclude Mayorga will be given a boxing lesson and a rest on the canvas if he were to challenge Cotto. I agree with Raysan, you guys forget that Cotto got wrecked by Torres and Corley and even Zab stunned him. I kno it was at 140 but 7 pounds aint that big a difference and Cotto was prolly way over 140 wen fight night came. Cotto SHOULD win that fight but Mayorga is still very strong.

Trinidad punches harder then Cotto but he couldnt finish him early and De La Hoya, the only man to truely wipe out Mayorga, got rid of him in six but it was a ref stoppage and while mayorga did take a beating he didnt even look hurt.
