What happens when the floyd Cotto fight comes.. *(because it is coming.. you know it is because the money is building and after oscar fight it will be louder.)* And floyd wins... Who should he fight then?
I love mayweather's style and personality BUT...

.....nothing, because boxing fans actually asked for this fight unlike his other fights where he was just fighting a name that brought money and nobody asked to seeComment

Then it makes you a ***** since you love his personality yet consider him a ***** and a fake.I have to say i think hes a ***** and a fake. Think about it did we really ask to see
de la hoya vs. mayweather no we were asking for mayweather vs. margarito
or even better did we ask for mayweahther vs. hatton no we were asking for
mayweather to fight the top dog in the WW division miguel cotto.
Second, who is we? The Hardcore boxing fans? Plenty of people wanted to see Delahoya/Mayweather including the Oscar fans who keep buying his ppvs no matter who he fights. The mainstream boxing fans wanted to see it.
The Ricky Hatton fans wanted to see him and Floyd get it on including some Floyd haters who actually thought that Lil Ricky had a shot at beating him but are now pissed off since it didn't happen.
So just stop yourself son.Last edited by Vladimir303; 03-08-2008, 02:35 AM.Comment

I don't see Floyd acting like a tough guy warrior type do you? He is acting like a flashy businessman, all there is to it, to piss people off.just shut up you dont know what your talking about i think he has very interesting personality but he just doesnt act like that when it comes to time step up and take the challenges offered by non biased boxing fans who actually watch boxing all year round.

Secondly, My name is Vladimir and I'm not a fan of Wlad Klit with a W. Believe it or not Brooklyn boy BUT there are more people then just one with the name Vladimir including the former russian president.
Third....your boy Judah got wrecked by Floyd.Comment

If Floyd were to fight Cotto and win, he should continue to clear out whoever is seen as a threat in the division. If not, he should then just retire. Basically, if he's going to stay in the game after Cotto, then he should keep fighting top-tier comp.Comment

Floyd has already paid his dues. He's not a young cat coming up age 24, so stop acting like he's a contender or something. He made 5 categories in 8 years, unnaturaly, meaning he was just heavier and not stronger in some of those fights. If Foyd decides to retire not fighting Cotto noone can blame him, that's the truth. WW is not the natural weight for pbf and if you keep fighting every star out noone would ever retire. Williams, Berto, Cotto are all still young fighters soon to be joined by many more (from both weight directions) and all of them are bigger than Floyd.just shut up you dont know what your talking about i think he has very interesting personality but he just doesnt act like that when it comes to time step up and take the challenges offered by non biased boxing fans who actually watch boxing all year round.

I agree but you know boxing is a business, would you retire when you know you can have a last good fight and probably win it for say 20 million dollars? I doubt it. In this case it's boxing who is to blame. And here we go again to the ABC's of boxing. I think they should tighten the rules so we don't see Cotto-Gomez, Mayweather-Oscar II and such fights that have no value whatsoever to the fans and the sport.
Compare this with the mma scene. You have UFC and the new PRIDE coming up which is sure to grow bigger than the UFC. All good fighters are signed for a certain number of fights and they don't get to choose who they fight. The fights are made with the thought of finding the better man, the better fighter. Champions defend against good fighters and fighters like Gomez wouldn't even have a contract and would fight in smaller orgs with no visibility until they become really good. Fighters have only 3 rounds but they fight like 3 times a year sometimes more..Comment

Well those were my thoughts also...
But I'm saying would it be enough? for people to stop doubting?Comment

You are always whining that welterweight isn't a natural size for Floyd. So tell me, who made him fight there? Was he banned from fighting at 135 or 140? No, he is there because he wants to be. The truth is that he is now a well adjusted and reasonably strong welterweight. He is by no means the smallest welterweight champion ever, Whitaker, Napoles, and Armstrong were all time greats who were even smaller than Mayweather. So please stop with all these "poor Floyd" posts. He is fighting in the division he chose for himself and is doing quite well. Don't ask for sympathy for him when fans insist he fight the other top welterweights. That's what being a world champion is all about.Comment
