  • BAD news guys!!! Openscoring for BOTH fights!!!

THe SAM PETER-OLEG MASKAEV fight, and the JUAN DIAZ-NATE CAMPBELL fight will BOTH have open scoring.

THe Peter-Maskaev fight wont be affected at all, as that is going to be a KO. But the DIAZ-CAMPBELL fight could be HUGELY effected by this.

That fight is going into the later rounds and the judges may have had a hard time picking between Nates power and Juans volume punching.

We'll see what kind of warrior Diaz is. Will he back off if he he is up by a lot in the final few? or will be brawl it out?

I don't know, with open scoring Peter vs Maskaev could go like Mormeck vs Bell.

They both have the power to KO each other but if the one of them is winning after 8 rounds with wide margins I'd expect him to go on his 'bicycle' for the rest of the fight.

One punch from either fighter can knock a man out and I doubt they want to take any chances with the world title on the line.

This definitely increases the possibility of a decision in the Maskaev vs Peter fight.

Im not worried, he knew he won every round against freitas and diaz, and that didnt stop him.

Im not a big fan of it, but we'll see how it plays out. It could be like a Mormeck/Bell II when one fighter runs four the last rounds or it could get interesting if the fights close in the later rounds.

I think this helps, if the Diaz camp is worried about any fishy Don King stuff with the judges they will know now if anything is going on if hes winning the fight and then he is losing or the fight is close. I think it will encourage him to go for the knockout.

Actually it will def effect Maskaev / Peter....

I predict Maskaev winning a tough decision in this one... but as they get into the later rounds and Peter realizes he is behind on the score cards.. he will get desperate and that's when the illegal punches come in!

                  sucks!

Yeah, I now see Mask winning a girlie decision with this ruling. I know Sam Peter is a master technician and all, but I imagine it might just be possible to outbox him, then cycle for the rest.
