The second fight had a quick stoppage.

The third fight: if the ref. didn't jump in early, Marquez would have been stopped

none...the second fight the stoppage was good, cos marquez was recieving a lot of damage and was starting to not defend himself anymore.
on the third fight, the deduction was correct, cos the ref told marquez about the low blows 2 times before. and with the standing count, i think if he would have let vasqez continue, it could have been dangerous cos marquez was trying to rab the ropes with his hands and was not defending. if the ref have stopped the fight then that would have been a bad call.

theres no difference whatsoever other than the terminology and the circumstances in which each happens. the result is the same between the two, and thats what matters.

hell, I think Al Bernstein even called it a standing 8 count at first.

what i mean by big difference is that the unified rules and the WBC rules do not allow a standing 8 count. It is ILLEGAL.

Agree. In my opinion, the last low blow was a bit questionable, but he had been warned what? 3 times? So he had to know that anything even remotely close was going to cost him. As far as the knockdown goes... He was clearly held up by the ropes, and had the ref not stepped in, Vasquez would have erased all doubt of whether it was a knockdown, or not.

I thought the second fight was stopped at the right time, Marquez looked insanely fatigued.

But that point for the low blow was ****ed up, it wasn't intentional, but at the same time the ref was just doing his job.

...In other news. Why can't a guy just win a ****ing fight these days. There always has to be some blown up controversy about a screw job. People lose. Get over it. Move on.

I agree. I think Gary Shaw protesting is total BS and he was acting like a little baby at the post fight conference.
